I think theboiledegg, ys and Nina_rus should head up the Russian Olympic Committee.

The Russian Olympic committee is always a step too late when it comes to helping their athletes. I think the Russian Olympic Committee needs an overhaul. It's time their dead wood was replaced with the likes of young and passionate Russians such as theboiledegg, ys, Nina_rus, fresh2flash and Tenn_ace. They have showed an incredible love for Russian sports. And they more than held their own on this board during what they perceived to be the anti-Russian Olympics.

So what do you say? Should Eggy, ys, Nina, Freshy and Tenny head up the new Russian Olympic Committee? Yay or nay? I say yay. What do you say?

Honestly, the cat, I am not saying a word about SLC Games any more. I am tired of it. I mean, what's a point.. For me it was a turning point - I think the whole idea is pretty much dead - it now depends quite little on talent and commitment. It is now up to who has more money to finance, who have better experts in pharmacology, whether you got caught or not ( they say that the method to detect the drug used by skiers was developed just a couple of weeks ago, what if it would not have been developed, they'd still be heroes? How many of Olympic winners are this kind of "heroes"?) judging games, etc, etc...

No, cat.. I think that Olympics, as well as anything in Top sports, is a dirty business, and there is not much you can do to clean it. Team sports will be pretty clean, because they are relying on mental aspect a lot. But others.. Russian officials say that The Games started with corruption when it was decided to have it in SLC, they preferred to forget that Mr. Smirnov, Russian IOC representatives was under investigation of being bribed in that occasion himself, and the bribe was proved, yet considered insignificant.

I am pretty much confused about the whole thing right now. Let me stick with supporting tennis, waiting for WC-2002, and other things that I can trust to be honest. Olympics are in crisis, that's pretty obvious.

All too much Politics for me, I dont think I'd ever do such things like that.

Its not for me and I'm sure tenn_ace, Fresh and Nina would say the same.

Best to stay well away. I'm also glad the whole games are over and 2004 should be a whole lot better.

Good luck to my favs

Corruption in sports is only considered acceptable if it helps your own country - so it seems.

Not sure what that had to do with anything - but I had to say it somewhere.

ys and tbe both sound exhausted about talking about the Olympics.

Oh well - you'll have another 2 years to recouperate.

True, Becca, I am exhausted.. That was rough two weeks for me. I have huge amount of work piled up at my job, also watching these Olympics, a couple of days of very hard skiing myself previous weekend, then arguing with you all all over the boards, also got married in between. Too little of sleep, too much of fighting, emotions. I am drained, completely. But I hope I'll be back by Indian Wells time..

Congratulations, though he does not sound very happy when speaking of it

I may sound very pessimistic, but I also do not beleive in sport anymore. Doping has ruined it already. I know the figures and I`m sure that 99 % of athletes use it. It`s not the competition of men or women anymore, it`s a rivalry of kiborgs

Thanks, guys..

Happy? That's not the right word, perhaps.. It doesn't change much in terms of anything but responsibility.. So I am a bit overwhelmed with it. It coincided with things heating up quite a bit at my work, plus Olympics, other things.. Just a bit too much to handle at this moment, but I am adjusting it seems.. I like changes and challenges, this one is going to be tough..
