The Indoors isn't really that big a deal. It's the outdoors later this year that will be interesting.
Any news on Irina Privalova? If she's recovered from surgery that 400m hurdles world record is going to fall later this year.
I hope Olga Shishigina takes the 60m hurdles indoor title.
Yeah, I'll watch the indoors but it's the outdoor meets that get the real nerves going!
The Russians are almost guaranteed the indoor women's 400m gold. Can't remember the girl's name but she was very impressive in Birmingham a few weeks ago. She was a new one to me.
Yeah I know what you mean Mirajana _Fan, the indoor season events are just like warm ups really, but I love athletics and we def need a thread for it!
Im going to the Commenwealths in Manchester, but there are no Americans there which IMO means it loses its spice a little.
No Stacy, Maurice, or Marion
But Europeans are cool, Good Luck to all the Brits!!
Does anyone know if and when Denise Lewis is coming back?
She has missed all the winter training and stuff, so she cant be coming back to soon, now shes a mum she might not feel the need to compete anymore.
Denise says she hopes to compete in the Commonwealths but will stay with her baby if needs be. But she did say she misses being an athlete and wants to be back out there competing again which is good news. Bad news for her on the international scene mind you are the reports that Ghada Shouaa of Syria is looking very impressive in training again. I f she stays injury free she could be a big thorn in Denise's side.
I read this article about Denise on the BBC sport website.
Olympic heptathlon champion Denise Lewis has confirmed she is still planning to take part in the Commonwealth Games and European Championships this summer even though she will give birth to her first child in April.
Lewis is optimistic she will be able to defend her Commonwealth title in Manchester in July and compete in the European Championships in Munich the following month.
The 29-year-old Lewis said: "It is going to be a challenge but I want to get back to being an athlete.
"Everyone is telling me to be sensible after the baby is born so I will take my time and get back into some sensible training."
I'm glad she is planning to make a return, British athletics wouldn't be the same without her!
I agree, the indoor season isn't as exciting as the outdoor, but the Commonwealths should give non-USA athletes a chance to shine!
(Although I would like to see another Stacy Dragila-Svetlana Feofanova matchup, if Stacy was on form!)
