Your Movie Of The Day

PREFACE:

People are either going to love me or loathe me for devising this thread. I know there are a few other '...Of The Day' threads and I've personally lost count on the movie based threads on this board. But hey, all good ideas are eventually mass produced. My first pick is Working Girl. I always wanted a sequel becuase I loved the first movie so much. I'm aware of the argument that great movies do not need a sequel. However, I disagree for the following reason: It's because the movie is great that the sequel is needed in order to satisfy public greed, rightly or wrongly. Inevitably sequels are a disappointment, but I always like too much of a good thing. Besides the poor sequel often helps the viewer appreciate the orginal movie more. I think in the Working Girl sequel we should havew seen Katharine Parker devise a brutal revenge on Tess McGill and Jack Trainer but alas it was not meant to be.
