American television didn't show Irina during prime time. I guess it was showed overnight, when very few people were watching. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed her skate at the gala.

Irina has improved her artistry over the years. But it was still her downfall in the short program. And I don't agree with that. I hope the ISU changes the tiebreak from the presentation score, to the technical score. Who skated the best is and should be more important than who has the better presentation.

hello the cat! your right on, i really hope they move the tie breaker in the technical mark for next season.

Thank you also Vivaseles for sticking up for Irina. She clearly was robbed of her golden future as soon as she finished Serenade

I favorite Irina exhibition program is 'Timeless'

IRINA deserved the gold medal! No question about it!!! And we know why she did not get it....
Nevermind, she is the best skater, and everybody who understands figure skating knows that.

IRINA, we love you!

Irina deserved to be in first after the short program. But she was placed second. And that helped cost her the gold medal. But she still had a chance to win the gold. But she didn't skate her best long program. And Sarah did. Sarah did 2 triple triples. Amazing! And she did them and her entire long program flawlessly.

Irina's presentation scores were a little lower than they should have been. If Irina had skated a little better long program, she would have won the gold. But Sarah's long program was pure greatness. And will be remembered that way.

We can make a case that Irina should have won the gold. I think she would have, if she was placed first after the short program, she would have won the gold. But there is no way Sarah's great performance can be denied.

I also think that having one Russian battling three Americans may have played a role here as well. The ladies program was the only one of the 4 figure skating events where America was expected to win gold. And they did. While Russia nearly won all 4 figure skating events.

right on thecat

Its just hard to believe that in all other competitions, she had gotten higher presentation marks, but just this one competition(and you bet Nagano too), the judges were biased against her

anyways did u guys see the pics in her site?!? They are fantastic
