* Round Robin format - 4 groups of 3 players

* Draw of 12 players (including 2 Wild Cards). The highest 10 ranked players as of the Monday before the Tournament, who have won an International Tournament singles event during the current Tour Yearand have not qualified for entry into the Sony Ericsson Championships singles draw will qualify for the event, along with 2 wildcards, nominated by the Tournament.

* Prize money of $600K. A player who wins 3 International tournaments and the Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions will receive the additional $1-million bonus on top of the prize money.

Low prize money :tape: what a pathetic tournament :p.

I think one WC will go to Patty Schnyder as she won Bali last year, I think she deserves it, because she cannot even defend her title otherwise.

Giving WC's to Indonesian Players is senseless: No indonesian player could win a match in any WTA Tour tournament, not even in qualifying!!!

That would make wonders to their rankings, though...every match played in Bali gives you 35 points (even losing it) :help:

Add 90 for every RR win
Add 170 for semifinal win
Add 190 for final win

strange strange!

Look at Radwanska, Ivanovic and other top 15 players who won't qualify for Doha but probably won't qualify for Bali as well as they haven't won an international event!!

On the contrary Lisicki and Dulgheru for exemple both won a Premier event but not an international event so they are not qualified yet even if they won a bigger event!

I'll be curious to see the 2 WC

number 9 and 10 at the Race??
Dulgheru and Lisicki??
Sharapova ??
Clijsters??
Schnyder the title holder??
Indonesian player??

If Clijsters wins Luxembourg, she may not need a WC -- she could qualify on her own. (Assuming she does well in Montreal and USO).
Montreal and USO has nothing to do with entering here. Anyway, if Kim wins Luxembourg (even not doing it), if she wants to play here she will get a WC for sure...

there's even a prelim list for this
and Lexy is on it :spit: :haha:
27 names on it and 16 are outside top 200 :tape:

Yeah, but if a player like Cljisters asks for a WC, would you say no if you were the tournament director?

In case you'd say no, you should be fired :p

I guess so to.
I an belgian article about wickmayer, they were telling that she definly will go to Bali, as on next monday she will be one of the highest ranked players to earn her spot in Bali. (except for Azarenka, Penneta, Wozniacki, and Bartoli, but probarly a couple of these will qualify for the Masters)

So far, these will be the players ellegible to play Bali as winners of International Series tournaments:

Dinara Safina (Doha)
Venus Williams (Doha)
Elena Dementieva (Doha)
Caroline Wozniacki (Doha)
Victoria Azarenka (Doha)
Vera Zvonareva (Doha)

1. Jelena Jankovic
2. Flavia Pennetta*
3. Marion Bartoli
4. Yanina Wickmayer
5. Anabel Medina Garrigues
6. María José Martínez Sánchez
7. Agnes Szavay
8. Aravane Rezai
9. Vera Dushevina
10. Sybille Bammer

+ 2 WC

Next in:
··· Rybarikova
··· Kvitova
··· Vinci*
··· Petkovic

* Pennetta and Vinci will probably withdraw from here as Fed Cup final is going on at the same time. Nice timing by WTA/ITF :weirdo:

**Still lots of players can get to Bali. Zheng, Peng or Kleybanova can win Guangzhou, Petrova or Wozniak win Quebec, Stosur win Seoul or Osaka, same as Bartoli (in Osaka)...

Skip the probably. Flavia has already said even the beaches in Bali can't make her skip the FC final:lol:
FIT is trying to get a compensation for the points (&money) Flavia/Roby will miss thanx to this stupid scheduling - gonna be interesting.

I also heard that at least 1 wild card is supposed to go to a player who did well in the International Tournaments but didn't win a title (Errani was mentioned, lmao, how big do they wanna make this mess?), but I don't know if that's true.

And I wonder what will happen to the players who qualify for Doha as reserve? Right now that's Jankovic and Pennetta. Could Jelena be in both tournaments then? Will she be forced to skip one of them?

If the 9th and 10th from the Race are allowed to play in Bali (for example Bartoli and Jankovic) what about the alternates for the YEC???
.

Doha alternates can play here, even if they play some matches there. It is not mandatory for them to play here though (just like for the players competing in the Fed Cup Final). For the rest, participation is mandatory.

first of all, after 2 titles and 34 rank, israeli peer is in 99%.
this will make a diplomatic problem like it was at dubai, so we need to see what the future holds.
second, one of the WC can go to kimiko data krumm, after winning korea open
why start announcing dimplomatic problems before they even exist?
let's just wait and see. All indications so far are that the tournament is treating her like any other player.
Why are you trying to invent drama?
