Re: Thursday OOP & Scores, New Haven

So many balls driven in the bottom of the net by both players. That's what you get when people with long swings and a lot of topspin mistime a ball.

Amélie plays some of her best points in the last 2 games and manages to lose them.

That behind the court camera that they have at the court level really does show the point structure very well.

This match has gotten a lot better this set. Hope Kuzzy doesn't wake up tomorrow with a swollen ankle.

It's a good tactic and it's not like it's all she does - just breaks up Kuzzys rhythm. Amélie will never beat her in an out and out power battle so why not moonball follwed by low slice followed by short topspin angle - she's not giving her the same look at a shot repeatidly

Yeah, but if she keeps doing it 4-5 shots in a row, Kuzy can easily attack (especially off the forehand side).

That's my point she doesn't do it 4 or 5 in a row - you might be considering heavy topspin as a moonball but for me I think back to Conchita Martinez loopy high shots as a moonball. Momo looking very fleet footed at this stage in the match, good signs.
