Caroline's 2015 Schedule

I thought it would be a good idea to start a new schedule thread for 2015 like we did last year. Does anyone know anything about any tournaments she'll be playing in or how many internationals she'll be forced to play?

Re: Caroline's 2015 Schedule

I'm not sure if the proposed change of allowing two Internationals per six months for top 10 players will take effect in 2015 (if at all). I somehow doubt it. And I don't think Caro should increase her number of tournaments. But it could perhaps be useful in planning a better schedule (for instance two Internationals in one half of the season, and none in the other). We'll see.

I don't know anything specific about her schedule except the obvious (4 GS, 4 PM, at least 4 P5, and at least two premiers). But she must play Rome in 2015 because she skipped it in 2014.

If she's playing ASB Classic, do you guys think she will still play Sydney? I really hope she does! My home town!

Re: Caroline's 2015 Schedule

One of Caroline's main goals in 2015 is to get to Melbourne healthy and in form, but not worn out.
She only won Intls in over 2 years, so I dont think she should waste one in January, unless she is all out to win this title

Caro has only once made the semis or better (2011 Australian Open semis) of a tournament in Australia or New Zealand.

Unless the WTA changes the rule about only two international tournaments in a year for a year end top 10 player, it does seem like a waste of an international tournament for Caro and with that a waste of one of the few chances for her to win a title in 2015.

Captain Matthew Gideon: I may have an idea.
Dureena Nafeel: I don't think you've recovered from your last good idea.
Captain Matthew Gideon: That would explain it.

I think though that Caro is the type of player who needs matchplay after the off season. She typically doesn't start the year great from her 1st match. So I think two tournaments before AO is probably right for her.

Caroline Wozniacki

Agreed, she normally sucks down under but always gets her act together by Melbourne, I think it's the only slam where she's never lost in R1.

Re: Caroline's 2015 Schedule

She needs matches to get going. Brisbane/sydney fields are always very strong and caro normally loses to a BBB like Safarova this year. Playing Auckland will give her confidence as she SHOULD get to atleast SF and she will probs gain confidence going into Melbourne

No. It was in February in 2014. In 2013 it was in May although Denmark played in the same group these two years.

I don't think it's been decided where the event will be played either except the Danish Federation has confirmed they can't host the tournament in 2015. But they've said they could perhaps host it in 2016 (I guess it depends on Caro's participation though).
