Caro won 3 matches this week. Amazingly, she's only done that about 5 times all year, and only won 4 matches once all year.
So a big semi coming with Aga or Kerber. Still a chance at the YEC, but needs big points
She's still having trouble with players who have the weapons to hit her off the court. Obviously, Rybarikova made her look very good. Now for a huge semi against Aga or Kerber.
Huge match. Probably the last chance to make something of the season. Likely to define whether she makes Istanbul or not. It's huge for both players though for the same reasons.
Hi, I am back (for now)
Good tournament for Caro so far but I wouldn't say she's playing particularly good but she's fighting and trying and that's something! Don't think she has a chance against Kerber if Angie plays well but at least she won 3 matches in a row!
P.S. Apparently Caro called Piotr an asshole during the first set TennisSupporter
@CWTennis Caro said sth like that: "You are just sitting out there and shaking your head and complaining all the time - you are an asshole!"

Great to see that Caro made semis here. It would be great if she had some real success on a big stage again. Kerber will be tough one to beat but I think Caro can make it happen.
It look like that it for caro making YEC, Overall it been an good week for her consider how her form been lately but it would been nice for her to make final and which would help her make YEC
Caro basically needs Kvitova to defeat Kerber now. Kudos to Angie great match today with combined +30 w-ue differential. If Kvitova wins she will be 900 points ahead and Angie 200 points. If Kerber wins, both are almost or more than 500 points ahead which is tough to overcome especially with Beijing draw
^ she still gotta get better at it IMO she rarely play offensive tennis IMO the only matches I can remeber beside this one & Paszek is the one at New Haven against Sloane, Last Year against Kaia Kanepi at Seoul, that Kremlin Cup final against Sam & 2011 at Doha when she played Pennetta, she need too play that style more often Which is finding balance of Offensive & Defense tennis hopful who ever she get as a coach can help her with that
I think everyone who fan of her would like too see her make YEC it be an good ending too her bad season that she been having also it would give her an chances too go against the best players as now even if she was too lose to them at YEC it be nice too see how her level is against them and how she match up against and where she need too improve in order too get to that level but that just IMO
She played well, she just didn't take her chances. She could have been up 3-0 in that 2nd set from the get go but against Kerber it was always going to be tough because she defends so well, she made some incredible shots when down.
If Caro plays like this week, she will have her chances in Beijing but we know she hasn't been consistent lately so it's a big IF.
I'm not bothered about YEC, I don't think she will qualify because JJ, Stephens and Vinci can play more tournaments, maybe as an ALT. However if she qualifies with a good result in Beijing it will be deserved.
Ah a loss. Yeah, I gotta admit, I could have watched it, but deliberately chose not to, as I couldn't see a scenario in which Caro def. a healthy Kerber. I am sorry to see, I was right ..
I believe that even if this match might have killed the chances of wozniacki for the master, it clearly showed her will and chances to be back on the top of the game...i prefer that loss to a bad quality win...she has to build back her game and most of all, her mental consistency...she's stepping in the right direction i think.
Angie was great as well and probably better in the key moment, no much difference but enough to win. In any case, a great spectacle for the sport, in face of the ones who say that those two are boring and bad for wta!
There were some positives in this loss.
You have to think that after Kerber lost IW semi to Caro this spring, she was going to fight hard for this semi.
The chance to play at Beijing is good motivation. These late season points will help her next year.
And if she played this well in NY, she would already be in the YEC
