Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 7

It looks like a good draw, but we know from experience that that doesn't mean much. Still, she could win a few here if she plays some decent ball.

Sorry, but that`s complete bullshit

The truth is Caroline`s game has become worse and worse !

- Caro used to be mentally strong, now mentally weak
She sucks at the big points of the match, chokes leads away
- Caro used to hit deep balls, close to line, now often too short
- Caro lost her consistency, one of the things she was known for
- Caro`s forehand and backhand became much weaker, too many UEs
- Caro used to be fast, but now she moves much slower
- Caro`s footwork/movement has become weaker, it was perfect
- Caro is often losing her focus, that did not happen as #1
- Caro wanted to win always so much, now Rory is #1 and tennis #2
- Caro used to place the balls so well, close to line and angles
- Caro lost her self-confidence, she is mentally weak now
- Caro is often too passive, she used to make opponents run
- Caro lost her fire and her motivation (losses and Rory)
- Caro used to be patient and smart, now idiotic errors
- Caro kept her UEs really low, now has become very erratic

Aus Open

Quote:
(24) Kanepi - Muguruza
Babos - Schmiedlova
McHale - Chan
(10) Wozniacki - Dominguez Lino
R1 and R2 could not be easier. A loss before R3 would be a disaster

Then R3 vs Kanepi, tough. And R4 vs Aga. Like I said Caroline must reach R3

Mchale in R2 won't be easy, Caro has a negative H2H against her!
Muguruza just won Hobart, I can see her beating Kanepi. If it's true about courts being faster this year, it will be a very tough match in R3 against either Kanepi or Muguruza who are both big hitters!

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 7

Kanepi beat Caro. Muguruza beat her. McHale beat her.
But she beat Goerges. So I think if Caro plays well she can get some revenge.
But first round 1. Its going to be very hot.

She definately is not the player she was, but at least she hired a successful coach, so lets give them a chance.

Head To Head means nothing. McHale is a shit player, Caroline is far more talented. And McHale is in a slump too. There is no excuse for Caroline to lose this match. She is the better player and #10, while McHale only #62.

Sharapova said the courts at Brisbane were MUCH faster than Melbourne. And Kanepi can play every surface. Caroline loves hardcourts, Aus Open and US Open are her best Grand Slams. She sucks at French Open and Wimbledon.

I agree with most of those points, except that she has lost her motivation because that is something we can't measure. Those other things we can see with our own eyes. I do believe however that she is working hard and that she is trying. We will see how she goes for the rest of the year, but if her results in 2014 don't show a radical improvement I don't think it's gonna happen for her.

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 7

I think I prefer her too play Kanepi in round 3over Gabbie if she make that far or if they both make that far. As far as her recent slump Idk think her playing bad recent two year has nothing too do with rory even through she does spend a lot time with him which that time she could be on court training but at the same time she has too have an life outside tennis. I think her slump has a lot too do with lack of her getting proper coaching she never give any coach any time too help her improve her game while she was at her peak. While other player like Vika, Aga Li Na and other got coaches over year and work hard with their coaches too improve their game something caro didn't do back in 09-12. Also the return of serena I mean Serena when she left it was an big widow of opportunity for all player too win slams and big titles now that Rena back it much harder

S. Williams (22) ♦ V. Williams (7) ♦ Vika (2) ♦ Kvitová (2) ♦ Kerber (2) ♦ Muguruza (1) ♦ Ivanovic (1) ♦
C. Wozniacki ♦ A. Radwanska ♦ S. Halep ♦ B. Bencic ♦ S. Stephens ♦ M. Keys ♦ Domi Cibulkova ♦ G. Bouchard ♦ L. Robson ♦ N. Osaka ♦ J. Ostapenko ♦ A. Konjuh ♦ D. Vekic ♦ M. Puig ♦ V. Duval ♦ T. Townsend ♦ L. Chirico ♦ F. Abanda ♦ S. Samir ♦ F. Stollár ♦ T. Andrianjafitrimo

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 7

Whatever, it was: Rory, burnout, no coach, or she just lost the ability to be consistent.. She made the right move to bring in a coach. At least have someone who worked with Sharapova & Li studying what she does and what she did.
I think this is an important year, because if a coach cant help her, then this form could be her max

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 7

Ok draw for Caro. A good result would be making it to the 4th round against Aga.

Good luck Caro.

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 7

I like all these interviews. She wants to work hard, he's happy with her technique.
So lets hope this works out.
Now Mchale who has 2 premier wins over Caro. This will tell a little more

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 7

Nice start. But like someone said in GM everyone can look good against Lino !

The match against McFail will tell us more. There Caroline can show us her real form

Jelena: "If I had to pick someone after me, I'd pick Serena."

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 7

So far this year she got some revenge against McHale & Goerges.
Now Muguruza. If Caro loses, that means Muguruza beat her in Miami & the Aussie Open. Not a good sign for a player who used to win hardcourt mandatories and was in a US Open final
