Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 7

I'm starting to worry about Caro's first round match, Rybarikova will be full of confidence after New Haven and can give Caro a lot of trouble!
Caro's playing on Tuesday, right?

I guess the best outcome would be for Rybarikova to beat Giorgi in a marathon SF and then be crushed by Kvitova 6-7, 6-0, 6-0 in the final, meaning maximun tiredness before USO but not too much confidence after her last match.

If Caroline plays like she did against Giorgi, she's in big trouble.

She served really well today, so it could get tricky if she keeps it up. Nevertheless, it's about match-ups: Caro vs Giorgi, Giorgi vs Magda and Magda vs Caro are completely different matches.

It would come as a cold shower if Caroline after her recent recovery would go out in the first round of the USO. Please don't.

I don't think we should be too worried about magda yes she in the final of new haven but I think caro game matches up well against her. Plus not that hard too beat Giorgi when she off her game, in many ways Giorgi is a lot similar too Rezai, & Cîrstea. When she on her game she can pick almost any player on the tour but who she off she can lose too anyone as well. I would say through caro gonna need too raise her game up regardless for the us open

Serena ♦ Venus ♦ Stephens ♦ Keys ♦ Vika ♦ Bouchard ♦ Muguruza ♦ Robson ♦ Aga Radwanska ♦ N. Osaka
Ostapenko ♦ Andrianjafitrimo ♦ Konjuh ♦ Vekic ♦ Bencic ♦ Puig ♦ Duval ♦ Townsend ♦ Chirico ♦ Stollár ♦ Samir

The US Open should have been her goal since she lost to Strycova.
So lets see if her Giorgi form is real or not.
I think she lowered expectations a lot, and now no one expects her to make a deep run.

Caro plays on Monday, 4th on Grandstand

I dream of Genie

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 7

US Open

R1: Rybarikova
R2: Schmiedlova/Sasnovich
R3: Petkovic/Smitkova
R4: Sharapova/Lisicki
QF: Halep

Very tough draw. There are many easier parts in the draw

Caroline should reach R4. But she must play well, some dangerous opponents

Anyway, good luck in US Open, Caroline !

Serena: "We have great personalities like Jelena (Jankovic) on the tour."
Jelena: "If I had to pick someone after me, I'd pick Serena."

Good Luck
Serena Williams Maria Sharapova Jelena Jankovic
A. Radwanska V. Zvonareva C. Wozniacki N. Petrova M. Hingis
T. Paszek A. Chakvetadze K. Sprem J. Dokic I. Tulyaganova A. Myskina

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 7

It's a bit ironic: we were afraid that Caro would tire herself out with a deep NH run and bring some injury with her to USO to crash out in 1R. Instead it's her 1R opponent who made the deep NH run and picked up a slight injury in the final!

How bad is Magda's leg? I didn't see the match, so I was jumping for joy when I heard she got hurt. I know that's not the nicest thing to do, but Caro is more important than etiquette

Yeah! Its the opposite of a normal round 1 for Caroline.
She had the whole week to get prepared and be healthy and her opponent played a full week in New Haven.

Plus the match is on Monday already, so if Rybarikova is suffering from an injury she doesn't have much time to recover. I also like the fact that Caroline plays on Monday for other reasons. Scheduling mess always affects those sections of the draw that play last more than those that play first.

Hi there guys, first time poster here. I was watching Caroline's practice today and as a fellow Caro fan I can tell you she's in very good form right now. She was mainly working on her serve today. The placement and the speed have been really good and when she attacking the line after some of Marta's returns, she has really good precision and control. She and her team seems pretty happy about the practice session as a whole. I am very happy to see her playing well. I'll be watching her play tomorrow so I am hoping it's a good match and I am quite optimistic about it.
