Well, I'm not fluent in Danish like most Mexicans are, so would you be kind enough to give me a quick summary of what Sunshine is up to there?

@bruce goose
It's a sponsor event: Signing autographs, playing tennis with kids, and a mini-match with the local mayor etc.

Another similar event tomorrow (Tuesday) near Copenhagen:

It seems like Caroline will be in Monaco for her birthday Thursday (a tweet by Malou suggests that).

I was wondering where Caro was gonna be for her birthday.

So when's the last time she celebrated it in Denmark? Just curious.

Thank you, Angliru. With her warm, sincere personality, Caroline is a wonderful candidate for such kids' events in both Denmark and Poland.Honestly, her ranking is still high enough that she wouldn't be bad, in that role, even in other countries...potential language barriers notwithstanding

So, then, am I the ONLY one who thinks that improving her serve would be a worthier goal for Caro than sneaking into YEC as an alternate??

^ No I agree I not too worried about YEC Don't get me wrong I like her too be there but I always said that two things she should always work on is Improving her serve & getting better at the net. I mean her forehand need work but i think that need to be improve first

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

Recently had majors won by Schiavone & Bartoli. So you can win a major out of nowhere.
Caro beat both Bartoli & Lisicki this year. 2011 Indian Wells her final 3 matches were Azarenka, Sharapova, Bartoli, and all 3 won majors since then.

So Caro should think positive. Even if she misses the YEC, so did Bartoli last year
Keep working and maybe you get a major where the better players arent around and you are playing well

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter....
Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there
Enjoy This Moment!!
HEALTH and HAPPINESS to EVERYONE

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

Another very poor performance at a Grand Slam !

Hard to believe Caro was #1. Won only 2 matches at FO and Wimbledon

Serena: "We have great personalities like Jelena (Jankovic) on the tour."
Jelena: "If I had to pick someone after me, I'd pick Serena."

Good Luck
Serena Williams Maria Sharapova Jelena Jankovic
A. Radwanska V. Zvonareva C. Wozniacki N. Petrova M. Hingis
T. Paszek A. Chakvetadze K. Sprem J. Dokic I. Tulyaganova A. Myskina

Caro was injured early in the 1st set in case you forgot.

Not to mention you're just now commenting on a match from close to two weeks ago.

Of course! I'm happy when she has on-court success, but if we're talking about FOCUS, then Caroline has already reached a YEC final, so merely making the field--just barely--wouldn't be any sort of career breakthrough that gave her a huge psychological building block.......it surely wouldn't carry over to 2014 with her on-court play....And that's why I say that improving her serve is a far worthier goal.If she establishes some stability in that area, then the benefits could be long lasting. When we look back on some of the big matches that she has served for and lost, then we can see the impact that a weak serve has had on her career

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

Regarding Caro's serve, I've always thought she should have a better serve for her physical stature. She has served well in spurts here and there, but it hasn't given her enough cheap points over her career. She experimented with her stance and now it seems like she's back to old form.

I don't think she should have any specific goals in mind for the rest of the year. She should focus on improving her game and getting back that consistent level of play that she was known for, beating everyone she should beat (most of everyone outside the top 10). It may be easier now that she will play on hard-courts only until next spring.

Being a YEC alternate seems a more tangible goal though. Just what would count as an improvement in her serve? How would it be measured?
