Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

Tough draw for Caro but oh well. Getting to her usual 3rd round loss at the French Open would be a pretty good accomplishment for Caro this year.

Good luck Caro.

Captain Matthew Gideon: I may have an idea.
Dureena Nafeel: I don't think you've recovered from your last good idea.
Captain Matthew Gideon: That would explain it.

Good enough performance. Jovanovski next round. I hadn't actually really noticed before now, but her draw is actually quite good here.

Well done to Caro!

Once I saw her losing the poll I knew she'd win.

I'm very happy for Chrissie.

It's a new art form showing people how little we care.

She put in a good performance for her standards. Can't be too upset. IN the end Robson did not put too much of a fight at all. So much for hype...

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

Very winnable 2nd round. Like I've said, there's no reason she cant be a force when the tour goes back to hardcourt. But she has to not beat herself.
This week she has a decent draw.

because we thought she would lose in the first round. Still Bojo is next, which should be tougher.

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

It was solid stuff, and she closed it out so I can't complain.
It's a lot of pressure off after all those 1st round losses, maybe she can loosen up a little win a few more rounds.
Just please don't lose again against Tackynovski

ehh i don't know about that, i rate Bojo and Robson about the same. Bojo showed in her win that she can rally better than Robson and has more fight. Robson has a better serve and more power, but it takes more than that to beat Caroline. Plus bojo knows she has a win over caroline, so she wont be afraid. But yeah enjoying the win for today.

Pretty good today, almost vintage Caro. My usual naive optimism was gone, so this was quite unexpected for me. Well done.

They are different types of player. I haven't seen Caro play at all on clay this year until today. But Laura definitely underperformed. I think this was partly because many tipped her to win and so the pressure was not just on Caro but was very much on Laura as well and that can make a big difference. I don't think there will be any pressure on Bo even though she did beat Caro. Laura really put no pressure on Caro whenever she had a good game to break Caro. Like serving 2 double faults in your next service game or squandering away to be quickly 0-40 down after breaking Caro when Caro was 40-0 up - she just took all the pressure away from Caro.

Boja is also a much better mover on clay. Whenever Caro could get Laura moving - Caro won the point. Of course Laura hits the ball a lot harder - but I'm sure Boja will be a tougher prospect than the Laura that showed up today.

Just one other thing. Not having seen Caro play since Miami. Has Caro changed her stance before she serves? Her feet don't look as wide as they have been (what TJ introduced). I've no idea what the effect is but that stance under TJ always looked ugly to me and it looked more natural today. Or is it me and I am I just iomagining it?
