I agree i know ppl might say I sound crazy but I still think it a possible chance she can win a slam, & I agree that she can make it too the later & deep round at the slams, as for as Brussels it depends too me, if she does well in Rome & Madrid & when i mean well I mean making too the QF or a SF then no I don't think Brussels wroth it, but if she don't do so well then maybe she should go too brussels and gain some points & get some matches under her belts

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

Was randomly checking out some clips from classic comedies on YouTube and,for some reason,a follow-up option was a Dubai player party from the fairly recent past, back when Caroline was #1.Vika and Caro are almost laughing cheek to cheek in the still scene for the vid link.....Didn't wanna watch it and get 'homesick' for happier times

PARTY IN THE PANIC ROOM! Serena wins an undoubtedly clean #22

Congrats on Number Three, Kim! We need more of you in this world

Good old days. Hope that Caro will once live those moments again and find her best form.

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

Caroline was in the Stuttgart final 2 years ago. #1 by a wide margin. Think how things changed since then.
On clay, her serve is a big issue, and she's lost 5 of her last 6 service games? or 6 of 7? last match she played against Voegele.

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter....
Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there
Enjoy This Moment!!
HEALTH and HAPPINESS to EVERYONE

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

^ Caro tends to take some speed off the serve, when playing on clay. As she's already losing so many service games, how much worse can it get? *shrugs* At least the opponent's serve will be slowed down (on red clay), hence maybe she can easier break.

Am honestly not trying to be a wise-ass,so....Are you asking that question rhetorically or are you uncertain as to whether or not Caroline's serve could worsen??....Let's hope that doesn't happen,of course

stuttgart is indoor and the clay is mixed with oil to make it "sit"...the surface is a lot faster than Rome and Paris, its courts are the same speed of green clay more or less

may your choices reflect your hopes not your fears.

I remember that experiment they tried and she must have been doing in training where every serve was supposed to be a kick serve at the speed of a 2nd serve. It was after there was so much talk about Sam Stosur's kick serve. I never liked that experiment of serving at 2nd serve speeds all the time.

It can be effective, I suppose. If you use Errani as an example. 85% 1st serves in and a 1st serve, which is not more than a 'putting in play' ball.

Maybe for Caro, just getting 1st serves in, could actually improve her over-all game? Not being weighed down by the pressure of having to hit a hard, flat unreachable 1st serve, she can relax and play points better?

It's a theory at least.

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

But Errani isn't exactly doing much better behind serve than Caro is. The biggest problem I have with doing that is your chances vs the top players go down even further because the serve will just get mullered time after time. I am not sure it's a route you really want to go down going forward.

Caroline Serve need too get better & Improve overall she needs a shot that going help her get easy points, I think it need too get flatten out kinda like Andy Murray that to me will make more of an effective Serve

You are making the assumption, she will get through the lower ranked players

Not saying it is, but given more spin and less risk on the 1st serve would make it more likely she'd win against Voegele and all the other 'outside' top 60 players, she is currently losing to, maybe not a bad trade-off? She isn't winning against 'top players' anyway, so the counter argument isn't really valid.
