Indeed. I've never been one to hold it against her that she wants to spend time with him or that she wants to see him playing golf. But this time especially the timing is unfortunate to say the least.

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

I would really like too see her Fulfill her Full potential as a Player It be a Shame too see her not too consider all she has done so far, I know she can Improve in so many area in her game, & It just hard for me too see 3 former number 1 player both retire without a Slam I think if not two at least one will find a way too win a slam I know there this Big Three in Women Tennis Now & don't get me wrong I a Huge Fan of Serena & Vika, Call me Crazy But I think there a chance where player like Li Na & Kvitova can find a way too win another slam, & Player like Caro, Agnieszka Radwanska & Pavlyuchenkova Can find a way too breakthrough, WHich in Pavly Case she still haven't broke through in top 10, But I still think it can happen I mean It will be much harder of course but possiable

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

The really great players want it so badly.
You cant force someone who just doesnt have that in them.
Sharapova couldnt even raise her arm up. Changed her service motion just to be able to play at all. But also worked on her movement and fitness. Kept working, even though she doesnt need to win anymore.

Caroline just doesnt want it at that level. There's very few players who have the physical talent but also want success and want it and want it.

So we have to accept that Caroline is satisfied being a top 10 maybe top 20 player.

You would think that as a defensive player, improving on red clay would be one of her greatest goals. Sharapova is offensive style, but really wanted to improve on clay.
But its mental. She has to want that so much, that watching golf isnt even an option

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

Caro's game isn't actually that suited to red clay. Defensive player doesn't necessarily mean you will excel on red clay. She doesn't have much variation in terms of spins and slice, she doesn't create massive angles, and she doesn't have a heavy weight of shot. Most importantly for a defensive player, because she hasn't grown up on clay she doesn't move as well on clay as a hard court, if Caro can't cover the court as well she's always going to be in trouble.

I know the obvious example of someone improving on clay is Maria Sharapova, which is of course true, she has worked very hard to get her clay game to where it is today. But lets be honest she still isn't an outstanding clay court player, she has her success on it because none of the top players actually excel on clay. The competition on clay is weaker.

I think as Serena gets older, the whole tour will have weaker competition. The players who take advantage will be the ones who make tennis their #1 priority. Thats what Maria has done.
Caroline should not be playing green clay. She should be training for red clay, trying to become elite on that surface. Red clay with always have a major and premiers, so being better on the surface should be Caroline's priority once Miami is over.
You're not going to see Sharapova at the Masters. She'll be training for the red clay tournaments. Rory will be playing masters for at least another 20 years, maybe 30

I don't get this criticism that Caro is supposedly a joke for playing green clay;the biggest thing to ME is the potential injury risk.Last time I checked,Serena's weakest surface by far is slow red clay.In fact, she got bitch-smacked out of RG in the 1st rd. last year...and Serena is signed up for Charleston...so how is it that only Caro is a joke for playing there?

Wasn't it working on green clay though? That won't be much help come the French Open.

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

Caro was in a Madrid final, Rome SF, Stuttgart final, won Brussels.
But those were when she was really dedicated to tennis.
Last year she didnt reach a QF the whole clay season. No reason to expect much better this red clay season.

she didn't get bitchsmaked. Anyway green clay is a nice warm-up, I don't have problem with Caroline plying her considering she has a good record. Anything that will give her confidence is a good thing.
