Re: Rory's golf thread

I wonder if Rory will fly back to Australia and make it in time for Caro´s 3rd round match. He will miss the cut. Equipment change not working so far. Sometimes it´s not the best idea to chase the money, but I guess he´ll adjust eventually.

- Caroline Wozniacki has never beaten a reigning world #1.
- Caroline Wozniacki has never beaten a top 5 player at a major.
- Caroline Wozniacki has not beaten a top 3 player en route to any of her 23 titles.
- Caroline Wozniacki has beaten two top 5 players en route to her 23 titles (#4 Zvonareva and #5 Schiavone)

-Her fans think she had very bad luck with her Grand Slam and Regular Tour draws.

Re: Rory's golf thread

When I read that Rory stayed up to watch Caroline play, it looked like Rory wasnt treating Abu Dhabi like a major. Tiger missed the cut too.
They both probably got huge appearance fees, did their Nike promotions, then left early.

Rory and Tiger are Out but there's 3 danish players in Top 24.

Rory will play in Qatar next week, where's Tiger asked for US$3 million in app fee, what they don't wanna pay...

So Golf pundits are as clever as tennis pundits ... They know everything

I am not a golf expert, but I predict, 3 month from now, Rory will be doing just fine with those new Nike clubs.

Re: Rory's golf thread

Rory is under a lot of pressure. He's #1 and expected to become an alltime great. It looks like he decided to go to Florida and practice with those clubs. He said the greens in Florida played faster and thats why he changed clubs in Abu Dhabi. Putter didnt feel right on slower greens

Good win by @CaroWozniacki today! Roll on the 2nd week... Wish I was there but looking forward to watching from the comfort of our own sofa!

Re: Rory's golf thread

Shouldn't Rory be working on his golf game with the new clubs? Caro tweeted about an hour ago that they were about to go on a roadtrip.

They both have some free time, so they're going to have some fun. Thats the whole point of having success, so you can enjoy life.

Caro sometimes seems to me too focused on the rewards of her success and not enough on achieving that success.

Hopefully Caro's roadtrip isn't too long so she can have some time to work on her game before Dubai.

I think its good that she doesnt panic. Its easy to get injured. You dont want to practice so much youre physically & mentally beaten down even before a tournament starts.

I hope her team is watching tape of the 1st sets & 3rd sets vs Sveta, and looking at where her level dropped and what she was doing those points.

But Caro needs to take a break. Its still a long year and long career ahead, even if she never is the old Caroline, she has to be allowed to have breaks

An impressive 17 month old child is playing golf - have a look - it's great. On twitter by Rory and Caroline some hours ago.

Are we absolutely sure that this isn't Rory himself playing?

@darrenrovell
The Las Vegas Hotel’s odds on # of majors Tiger will win this year: None (5/9), 1 (2/1), 2 (8/1), 3 (30/1), 4 (100/1)

Brad Gilbert ‏@bgtennisnation
@darrenrovell what are the same odds for Rory

darren rovell ‏@darrenrovell
@bgtennisnation Rory’s odds are exactly the same.

Re: Rory's golf thread

Nike's star duo McIlroy and Woods set to clash THREE weeks running in America
By MARK GARROD, PRESS ASSOCIATION
PUBLISHED: 15:31 EST, 12 February 2013 | UPDATED: 15:31 EST, 12 February 2013

The world's top two players Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods will be seeing plenty of each other this month as they are set to play in the same tournaments for the next three weeks.
Both men will play at the Accenture Match Play Championship in Tucson and Woods today confirmed he will also be entering the Honda Classic in Florida - he was second to McIlroy last year - and then the Cadillac Championship in Miami.
That is the second of this season's world championships and the event he withdrew from on the final day last year because of an Achilles injury.

We meet again: Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods will play in the same tournaments for the next three weeks
'I'm excited to be playing in the Honda Classic again,' Woods said on his website. 'I like the golf course and I came pretty close last year.'
He shot a closing 62, but McIlroy held him off.
'It's part of a busy stretch for me, and I want to continue playing well.'
He won the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego a fortnight ago, whereas McIlroy has not played since missing the cut - as did Woods - in Abu Dhabi four weeks ago.
