It may not be the smart choice but I think she'll value the here-and-now match higher than how her future might be better if she doesn't play.
Unfortunately you`re probably right. It's the "right" thing to do but it's not the smart thing to do.

We can mock other players for withdrawing from tournaments but maybe that's one of the reasons why Caro fails to peak at slams, she dosen't look at the bigger picture in situations like these.

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 5

If the knee feels okay she'll probably play.
I would think going for 5 titles here is just as important as defending points next week.
The way Petra is playing this hardcourt season, its going to be hard to win this.
But TJ as coach seems to be working. Thats the important thing. This could have been autumn 2010 or spring 2011 match. The other player was sloppy & Caroline ended it quick. That was good to see

No more a tourny in Farum, Copenhagen, money cricis are the reason they can't find the Sponsor money...

I thought Caro even earned so much she can run a tournament alone.... ?

Whoops...well, I guess her recent decline isn't helping, that's what happens if you base a tournament on a single player.

People simply seemed not very interested in anything but Caro, the attendance for the other matches was downright shameful.

She cant make the other YEC, unless they give her a WC. That one you need a title..She can use some extra time off after her year ends. Caroline has to improve every part of her game. Its like her whole game deteriorated over the past year

you never know, still a lot of points to go with USO, Tokyo, Beijing and Linz-Moscow, but it's really hard at this point

may your choices reflect your hopes not your fears.

Looking at the draw in Seoul, it seems taylor-made for Caro to win her title this year.

I don't fancy her playing the mini-YEC though...nobody cares and she's better off practicing.

Beside the Open she really don't have that many point too defend at Tokyo and Beijing, I think she playing Hansol Korea Open as well, and I hope she plays Moscow

I don't agree with you about the Seoul field. Kirilenko, Pavlyuchenkova, Kanepi, and Goerges are all scheduled to play. Caro has lost her last match to all of them (3 in a row to Goerges).

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 5

I didn't mean taylor-made like past Copenhagen tournaments but still, these are all players she has a massively favorable H2H against aside from Julia, who is playing utter crap for months now.

it's not about the ones she has to defend, as it's about the race, not the ranking

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 5

I think when the year started Caro thought she could spend a lot of time with Rory, have Sanchez hang around watching, and everything would keep rolling along as usual. Now she has to re-access what she's going to do in the offseason, what her schedule's going to be.Suddenly Pavlyuchenkova & Kirilenko are formideable opponents.. Caro has some tough decisions ahead. Nothing will be easy

Caro titleless for the first time since 2008! But I saw definite improvement in her game in NH. If she just keeps it up, the titles will come back at some point.

Madison Brengle: "I'd rather chew on a pinecone than play this match (against Wozniacki)."
Nicole Melichar: "Do you want me to go find you one?"
