Not necessarily. She has a decent chance of winning her matches until she gets to Serena in my opinion.

Enough with this pessimism , we need Caro vs Serena showdown, so she can't lose before QF!

Whatever happens I'm anxious to see if she is making any progress with her serve.

Mens draw looks like Federer got very lucky.
Womens draw is fair. Serena & Vika in the top. Petra, Maria bottom.
Caro should win round 1. Wickmayer(served for match vs Paszek) match should be close, so should round 3.
Got a chance to get to Serena. More important she closes out her matches, playes well late in sets.
Its been a full year of mentally weak tennis, she is the only person who can turn it around.

I think her 3R matches are winnable, but given her recent spate of losses after leading considerably and given her past record against both Paszek and Li, I'm finding it hard to muster up optimism that she'll close the match if she even gets as far as that. But who knows, right?

Yep. I'm not that optimistic either, but with this draw she at least has a fighting chance to get a few wins under her belt.

The only sure thing is R1, from there on out she can lose any of the next matches. Wickmayer is hard to predict, she's hot and cold... and Li has given her trouble in the past.

Realistically, we knew she wouldn't have a real shot at a medal on grass but Serena being in her quarter seals it. It would be great if she could make it to the QF but that will be the end of the road, her chances of beating a determined (and we know she will be, it's the Olympics) Serena on grass are probably below 5%.

Agr again in Serena's Quarter, what a year!
Anyway, I fancy her chances if she gets her brain back in place. She's lost so many close matches this year, if she could just string a few close wins together it might turn things around.
1st round should be a walk in a park, Wickmayer shouldn't be much a problem (H2H), and we can hope Paszek takes out Li and Caro has her revenge.

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 5

Its the kind of draw that can kick start her to better form. If she can get to Serena & play well that match.
Obviously, something has been very wrong with Caroline's tennis, and she has to get past that and start winning a lot of matches.
You never see players going from winning the most matches to going months without a match win when the player is healthy the whole time. This whole predicament is very strange. And look at Jankovic now. Caroline has to get out of this quick, or she might never get out of it

All matches are tough, but hopefully she can get a couple of wins under her belt and gain a little confidence. Then .. who knows?

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 5

Everything has been said. As each of you, I expect an easy victory in the first round. Wickmayer will be tougher, but Wozniacki leads 5-0 against her. Unfortunately, the Belgian has a 23-12 record on grass, so it seems she's comfortable on this surface. Still, Wozniacki should win that match.

I'm not particularly optimistic from the third round, but many things can happen by then.

As for Serena, well, would Azarenka, Sharapova, Clijsters or Kvitova be easier to overcome? If she wants to come back in the Top5, she'll have to beat those players anyway.

Yes, Serena is the worst possible opponent on this surface at this time if you ask me.

Clijsters isn't particularly good on grass, look how Kerber blasted her off court. Kvitova isn't the same as 12 months ago, I actually would like Caro's chances against her.

Sharapova and Vika would be trickier but both theoretically beatable, even though I don't fancy her chances against Vika at all right now.

When Serena has a good serving day, you have to rely on your own serve just to stay in the match and that's horrible for Caro. There's no room for error, the first break usually means you`ve lost the set. With the way she's been playing lately, that's just something she can't cope with...she needs lots of chances, a bit of wiggle room...Serena would simply out-serve her.

Just look at how much problems Vika had just to stay in the match against Serena, and she's in a much better form than Caro at the moment.

Serena is the least of my worries right now. That's stll an eternity away. If Caro wins three matches I think we can be happy.
