You really have to give her extra credit for winning a slam with that serve...it's just awful.

Whatever happens now, she'll keep the #1 ranking on Monday
Yeah, but I also have to give Sam extra credit for making this a much closer contest than I had expected. She played terrific and both could have won it really. It doesn't get much closer than this.

I think Bartolli had 3-4 cases of Red Bull before the match

Coming out storming and already a break up against Sharapova!

I'm surprised by Vika's record in tiebreaks this year. Vika was only 6-6 (50%) in tiebreaks prior to today's match. Stosur's record was a horrible 6-10 (38%).

Vika does have a 100% record in three setters this year though, 11-0.

And once again Sharapova gets saved by the rain.

The match is suspended with Bartoli up 4-0 15-30 on her serve.

The guy in charge at Eurosport must really hate Radwanska...they`re replaying her beatdown from Vinci again and again and again.... at least the fourth time during the past 24 hours now

When these kind of things happen, I tend to start to think of destiny.

Cincinnati, 2010. That particular rain delay was not kind to Maria.

In their other five matches Azarenka won sixty games and Stosur won fourteen. I was hoping for a competitive match today but given their previous meetings that seems unlikely. Still, Sam did finally defeat Maria at the YEC last year so she could give Vika a tough match.

Bartoli/Sharapova...eh, I really wanted to see Petra and Maria, I don't think this match will be very good.
Stosur also served for the match at 5-4 2nd set in the quarters of Stuttgart this year. Stosur hadn't faced a break point in that prior to serving for the match.

Well you did get your wish. I kind of thought the Vika/Stosur match would be a lot tougher than most of their matches but I certainly didn't think there'd a 3rd set tiebreak. I wonder what effect this match will have on future matchups between these two.

2004 Wimbledon. Lindsay Davenport's probably not thrilled about that rain delay.
