Quite remarkable given that she's not playing on either Cinncinatti or New Haven, she's basically skipping the whole USO series. This is either a genius plan for the USO or it'll backfire horribly.
I can't help wondering that maybe Vika wants to lose the #1 ranking before USO!? With Serena blasting away all opposition at Wimbledon and OG (straight setting Vika in both), Vika would be facing a lot of the same "Are you the real #1?" crap that Caro got.

I don't know, maybe she really just is injured. I don't think she likes surrendering the #1 to Radwanska of all people considering their past.

As far as the media pressure goes, I think she's less affected for various reasons. She does have a slam to back up her ranking and the media is just a lot less interested in her in general. There was an article during Wimbledon about how basically nobody cares about her pressers.... she never had that positive limelight like other players and she'll most likely won't have to deal with the same type of backlash either.

I could have went with the skimpy five-and-a-half minute long studio version but I figured the longer the better.

Re: Womens Tennis in General

Aga takes first set 6-2. If she continues like this and Wozniak wins 1 game fast, then Caro's match will start 2 pm (assuming the weather holds).

Edit: 6-4 Li.

Re: Womens Tennis in General

McHale takes the first game ... behind 3-5 in 2nd now .. but as rightly pointed out by CW, because the organizers have schedule McHale - Wozniak before Caro's 1.st match, a 3rd set in McHale - Wozniak might just mean even less time to recover for the winner of the next match ..
Rock and a hard place ...

Wozniak won 2nd 6-3 ...

Re: Womens Tennis in General

Paszek 6-3 Navarro. Vinci 6-2 Kerber! Vinci is good for some tough tennis at RC, as we saw last year.

Edit: Paszek wins 3 & 0.
Edit2: Vinci wins 6-2, 7-6(7)
