That is pretty bad, these guys are all in their sixties:

Chin up, both Sabine and Viktoria are way overdue to have decent runs at the U.S. Open. Things may look bleak for her now but she can still turn her season around.

Re: Womens Tennis in General

I agree about Vika and the USO but not necessarily Sabine, especially if she has health problems again. That usually affects her mentally a lot and she's not the mentally strongest player to begin with.

I just learned that she didn't win a single match at P5s in the past 12 months...amazing how you can do that and still be in the Top 20, isn't it?

Azarenka has had really bad luck at the U.S. Open the last two years. In 2010 there was the fainting incident and last year she got Serena in the third round. I'd be pretty shocked if she doesn't make the quarters/semis this year.

Sabine is at a disadvantage as long as so much of her ranking is dependent on her results on grass. Every year I think "this is the year her game will flourish on other surfaces" but it hasn't happened yet. I was sure that by now she would be in the top ten.

Surprising to see Aga lose the 1st set against a slumping Barthel.

Re: Womens Tennis in General

Many of the top players play so badly here so far, this has to be one of the easiest P5s of the year to make an impact on.

Last year Caro was one of them. Let's hope it changes this year.

Edit: Rain must be very local, BN and C9 are suspended while CC marches on.

Wozniak wins 2 & 3. Her mom was in the stands, easy to see who Aleks got her features from.

And Domi is down a set and a break while Aga is just down a set. Kvitova/Stosur had difficult matches yesterday, no easy tournament this!

Re: Womens Tennis in General

Really scares me regarding Caro's match. If she plays well though this could be the tournament to find some confidence though.
