Re: Womens Tennis in General

Is it possible for Maria to get the number one ranking if she wins?

If she makes the final she becomes #1.

Re: Womens Tennis in General

it's Monday and RG is already over for me. I was really shocked that Caro and Julia lost but that Vika lost as well... unbelievable.

Saw her at CDG today, she looked pissed to high heaven and I would have loved to give her a hug but she would have beaten me to a pulp if I tried I guess

By "her" do you mean Caroline, Julia or Viktoria?

Re: Womens Tennis in General

Is Petra being talked about at all as a potential winner? I get most of my coverage from the U.S. and they have their heads shoved fully up Maria's keister. It really seems like no one is talking about Petra at all, even Sam is getting a bit of attention as a potential winner. Kind of funny to see Petra be considered an underdog.

Yeah, I can always depend on my China girl to disappoint me. But I love her anyway. Oh well, back to watching Wozzy's underwear pictures!

Re: Womens Tennis in General

I know it's a long way off, but I'm curious about how well Sharapova will do at the US Open this year. She hasn't made it past the 4th round since winning the US Open back in 2006 and has lost 3 of the 4 times she played there in the 3rd round.

It's not that far off, those three months will go by in the blink of an eye. Other than the fact that Caroline is not anywhere near her best, which kind of dampens my spirits a bit, I'm quite excited about the next few months. Lots of great events to see.

I have to believe that Maria will break that dubious streak and at least make the quarters but we will have to wait and see. I hope it is not like last year, too many of the higher seeds were eliminated early and the quarters/semis weren't very competitive.

Re: Womens Tennis in General

It funny how every one I know always talking about how the women field on WTA have no room for Counterpuncher like Caro & ARad but half the top 10 is out the FO already lol that just shows how woman tennis is not strong like it used to be, but anyway if Sharapova don't win this slam I really doubt she will win another any time soon just due too the fact how wide open the field is, but I would Like a New Player Like Cibulkova or Kerber too win it I always like too see new GS Champions

Ya have too keep in Note that Kim Clijsters will be Unseeded where she be place will be hard on anyone and as well as Venus if she not seeded by then, I just hoping Caro can make a QF

I think that Kerber could win it all here.
