Okay,it's US Open time, and you know what THAT means: It's the final chance of the season for some beautifully misguided fan to make history by DRAWing on the DRAW.Pencil just won't cut it,of course, but I'll accept pen, magic marker,crayon,chalk,fingerpaint....or any other means that would leave a lasting memory of such an unmatched event in sports annals

I am a bit disconnected from popular culture so take this answer for what it is worth but at this moment I would guess that if she is regarded by people at all it is as a one hit wonder. Most younger Canadians might recognise the song but she is far from a household name. If you talk to people over the age of forty, maybe even over the age of thirty, about her you would most likely be greeted with a blank stare.

Interesting ... Ta! I suppose I should be ashamed of knowing who she is then To regain a bit of street cred, may I here then just inject that I've been to several Bryan Adams concerts (staying with the Canadian theme).

Keep in mind that you are just receiving the Maritime/Atlantic province perspective. We are hopelessly behind the times way out here, if you heard from an Ontarian/Quebecer you may receive a completely different answer.

Incidentally, we pretty much all know who Bryan Adams is. Jann Arden and Tom Cochran are two names that most Canadians probably recognise that may be more obscure to an international audience.

We also have an inexplicable love for the beaver.

Is "Da Nerth 'Ouse" still the most popular political drama on Canadian TV??

In some regions. In others a new programme titled "Watch out for dat moose, eh!" has eclipsed it in popularity.

Is that a poor attempt at a Canadian accent?

DownInAHole, dont encourage that shit. The only east coasters with accents are Newfs, the rest of us sound normal.

Have you ever been to Cape Breton? They definitely have a...unique...accent.

Are you a fellow east coaster? Which province are you in?

Actually saw an adolescent moose, from a distance, crossing a country road up in Maine once.It clearly wasn't a horse, and I couldn't figure out WTF it could've been until I reflected on it.From what I've heard from folks who've found out firsthand, moose can get REALLY nasty compared to other non-predators if you catch them in the wrong mood, accidentally surprise one of them,or just stumble into their stomping grounds...ESPECIALLY if they have babies around

Getting back to Canada, let me know via PM if you hear any news about Rebecca Marino's looking for a masseur,okay?....And,with a couple days left before the action starts,I still have hopes that some prankster might DRAW on the DRAW
