... the unthinkable for me is the Russian buying the CL trophy...

I would say, from a German standard missing two out of 5 penalties is poor. But Sergio's, 'Beckham' or 'Elkjær' for the Danes, penalty, was comical

I sorta hope Chelsea don't win if it means Tottenham or Newcastle (or both) get a CL place.

I don't have any objection to an ATP thread but for the fact it may be against forum rules.

This is totally unrelated...and I don't feel like posting about the match in the main thread just yet....

So answer me this....In Canada(and I'm excluding the Quebecois here,obviously),do you pronounce it("violence") VY--ohh--lence,VY--uhh--lence,or just VY--lence??

Most people probably pronounce it as "VY--uhh--lence." I usually say "VY--ohh--lence." Usually it is older folks say "VY--lence."

Thanks...and the others are right, btw;according to the dictionary, the 'o' has a schwa sound instead of the more standard vowel pronunciation. My friend works as an accountant for a Canadian mining company,so I wanted him to say the word like THEY probably have done

Heh...who needs to go a movie for some drama when Caro is playing a tournament.

I actually got home from seeing The Avengers about an hour or so before Caro's match. I thought it was very good.

Okay,to all you Brits...there's no rush, but I'd like to know if dear Mr.Simpson is singing a tune that was created just for this episode of Jeeves and Wooster...or is it a song that had actually existed prior to the series? If anyone could share the origins of that 'melody',I'd love to hear the story
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYd088V6NOE

You've got to wait 'til about the 9-minute mark, but most of you probably like J&W anyway,so no harm done, right?Personally,I thought it was hilarious seeing Dr.House sing 'Sonny Boy';this show was good-quality comedy.....Perhaps we could employ similar veggie-throwing tactics in our respective countries whenever we saw Caroline take on an opponent we didn't care for

"Sonny Boy" sounds a rather normal song to me,but "England,England,England..."---or whatever the heck it's called---seems like something that was concocted in a darts pub by a bunch of heavy drinkers who were watching the National Team

Djokovic just lost a set 6-2 to someone ranked #137.

Wow, pretty huge upset on the men's side. It took him fourteen attempts but Fernando Verdasco has finally defeated Rafael Nadal.

I've a feeling that Nadal's thoughts on the blue clay will not have improved after this outcome.

Weird, it seemed like Nadal made a bit of a breakthrough after beating Djokovic in the Monte Carlo final.

Yes, but I think this loss will have zero impact on Nadal's mental state in Roland Garros since he doesn't consider Madrid's "legitimate clay."

Great win for Verdasco though, so kudos to him.
