With the added excitement that a Finals run by Caroline would have brought,we easily could've reached 5,000 posts and begun a new thread with her first Slam title

It is a photoshoot for Stella McCartney. It was probably arranged weeks in advance. Either way she'll probably be in London for a day at most.

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 4

I was rewatching the 2nd tiebreak against Kim and it really struck me that she didn't make Kim play on her service points. 4 of Kim's 5 service points were 1-2 combos and an ace. The other point was a short rally.

Caro's shots could still use some more oomph, or hit with some oomph more consistently.

It's interesting that Caro had about winners as Kim in their YEC match (about as many unforced errors too). In their Australian Open match, Kim had 3 times more winners (about 1 1/2 times the unforced errors).

Word off court (and this is not official) is that Caroline Wozniacki and coach Ricardo Sanchez have already split.

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 4

that would make zero sense, her loss against Clijsters was clearly not rooted in any changes of play.

She had the same problems in that match that she had during her losses in 2011 before Sanchez worked with her so I don't see how her performance is his fault. Less than three months isn't even enough time to make significant progress in most areas.

(Confirmed report) Wozniacki working now with Maciej Domka (Alicja Rosolska's coach)

Provided that it's true, this has "panic" written all over it, I fear the worst for the coming months now...

This surely can't be true, can it? If it is, the "I feel no pressure being #1" argument rings pretty hollow.

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 4

I'm really gutted, what happened to the long-term approach of winning a slam? All off now because she lost one match against Clijsters?

That's a horrible decision, acting like a chicken with its head cut off won't do her any good. I seriously hope Piotr hasn't talked her into this with the AO being "proof" that Sanchez isn't working out.

This absolutely contradicts all of her plans of winning a slam, wanting to improve her game, not caring too much about being #1 etc.

Ugggh......

I think they realised they made a mistake in choosing him. He did not sound very persuasive when he was talking about how he's going to help her out. All this talk about making her play similarly as men play, meh, not very original. And, I think that a person can only achieve success if they do it on their own terms and don't strive to be something they are not.
Besides he wasn't able to overpower Piotr which is not a good sign of how much confidence he had as a coach

I think they will probably keep it a family affair as before and Piotr will coach her full time. A good coaching match for Caro would be someone like Nigel Sears. Hopefully VIP dumps him soon, too

I don't agree, he had the right ideas and despite the little time first change was already becoming visible...and it was for the better. Cutting her off from on-court coaching was a step in the right direction as well but in the end the problem seems to be that Piotr isn't willing to give up control over her. Until she finds the strength to cut lose it will always be like this...

She should really take a good hard look at Radwanska and how her career has progressed since she dumped her father. She's at a dead-end with Piotr since last summer but she seems to be powerless to do anything about it ever since her first try of splitting from him failed.
