Re: Official 2015 Caroline Wozniacki Off Season Thread: Chat

This year Caro played 25 events, though at the beginning of the year she wasn't supposed to play as many. Caro is the type of player that once she starts losing (sometimes even because of injuries) she gets into more tournaments and wants to compete as much as she can. I remember that nightmare clay court season in 2013, where she was losing every match and then got a WC into Brussels, for example. Also, this year she wasn't supposed to play New Haven, but after losing 4 matches in a row (because of a leg injury) she got a WC to play. I would prefer her not to do that in 2016, but instead stick with her original schedule.
I would like to see Caro play a lighter schedule next year. I think her body isn't able to play that many tournaments anymore, and her knee injury gets worse the more she plays. So, for me the ideal schedule would be this:
Brisbane or Sydney. (Birsbane would be better, because if she gets any injury () she would get more time to heal it, while in Sydney it would be tougher).
Australia.
Dubai and Doha. (she'll play both for sure. Next year Doha is a Premier 5 and she's a Dubai Duty Free ambassador).
IW and Miami.
Stuttgart, Madrid and Rome (she needs to play a lot on clay to improve her movement there. But those slow ass courts in Paris are just too bad for her).
Roland Garros.
Birmingham. (again, better than Eastbourne in case of injuries. Though she always goes to Eastbourne).
Wimbledon.
Montreal, Olympics, Cincinnati (no need to play NH tbh, as the Olympics will be on hard court ).
US Open
Wuhan and Beijing (I doubt she'll only play these two, though).
WTA Finals if she qualifies (if not just finish your season).

Also, I have no idea when she needs to play Fed Cup in order to qualify to the Olympics.
About Internationals, I'm not sure when she should play them. I'm pretty sure that if she plays Brisbane or Sydney she'll lose in her first match, because she's always a slow starter and she'll be unseeded. But at least she would play a higher ranked player. She could play Auckland and probably win more matches, but winning against Glushko isn't that remarkble, is it? Monterrey/KL is out of the question for me. She couldn't play this year in IW and Miami because of that. I still think these 19 tournaments + Fed Cup + 1/2 Internationals is a bit too much. But the only tournament from these I listed that I think she can skip is Stuttgart, but still she should play it.

Well I know this may not happen but I hope this off-season when she get her injury taking care of, that she work with out of Arantxa Sánchez Vicario or Michael Mortensen, even if their not her coach and just an coach-consultant, she needs some help atm. I used to say yrs ago that I wish she would enter in tennis academy like Good to Great. I remember saying this way back 2012 but it very unlikely it will happen

As far as her schedule I say this

Brisbane
Sydney (only if she loses early in Brisbane through, if she make SF-W in Brisbane no need to play Sydney)
Australian Open
Dubai and Doha.
IW and Miami.
Katowice Open (We all know she gonna play an International eventually)
Stuttgart, Madrid and Rome
Roland Garros.
Birmingham.
Wimbledon.
Montreal, Olympics, Cincinnati
US Open
Tokyo, Wuhan and Beijing
WTA Finals

Why would Caroline work with Arantxa when she was recently quoted saying that she couldn't see Caroline (or Ana) making it back to the top of the game?

I missed that. I wish she would get some extra help from a former player or a second coach that knows about tennis more than Piotr. It would help her.

Never know Aratxa said that, last I recall they was suppose to work together again during offseason, but even if she did say it I mean she was just commentating Martina Navratilova used to talk bad about aga before being her coach, either way Caro could used someone beside her father that can help atm imo

I think she should only play 16 or 17 events. But yes, I know that she will play 24 or 25.

Re: Official 2015 Caroline Wozniacki Off Season Thread: Chat

So, let me share my ideal Caro schedule too :

~ Brisbane
~ Sydney
~ Australian Open (Melbourne)
~ Dubai
~ Doha
~ Indian Wells
~ Miami
~ Charleston
~ Stuttgart
~ Madrid
~ Rome
~ French Open (Paris)
~ Birmingham or Eastborne
~ Wimbledon (London)
~ Montreal
~ Olympics (Rio de Janeiro)
~ Cincinnati
~ US Open (New York City)
~ Tokyo (Premier)
~ Wuhan
~ Beijing
~ WTA Finals -Singapore [if she qualifies (hopefully)]

There are total of 22 tournaments, maybe it's too much...It's okay if she skips Charleston! Did you notice that there are no Internationals in this schedule? However, I'm sure she'll participate in at least one International event. After all she's the QUEEN of Internationals!

I'm sure she'll play at least 2 Internationals. She played 3 this year and was a top 10 player. Now she doesn't have a limit. But next year with one more tournament (Olympics) it won't be easy to find a good time to play an International that will actually give her time to prepare and be fresh for the big tournaments, which she said are her priorities (though this is Caroline Wozniacki we're talking about ). So if she plays all these tournaments + 2/3 Internationals it would be 24/25 tournaments. This year she played 25 events and struggled with that.
