Olympic Dream

Aga has qualified for Beijing 2008, which obviously was just a formality

it's her first career chance to get "the eternal fame"

lets discuss here her chances, road to, etc

Re: Olympic Dream

What does Ula's ranking need to be to play doubles with Aga at the olympics?

Re: Olympic Dream

doubles qualifying is not clear at the moment

but there's no chance for Ula: her doubles rank is 172, even with Aga's singles rank, it won't be enough
Aga most probably will play doubles with Marta Domachowska, who has singles qualification, unles there'll be some strange pairing with Jans or Rosolska

Re: Olympic Dream

ITF begins Olympic entry process

The entry process for the 2008 Olympic Tennis Event in Beijing begins this week, with the ITF notifying National Associations and National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of the players eligible for direct acceptance into the singles and doubles (top 10 only) events and sending out application forms for ITF places.

Fifty-six players will qualify as direct acceptances into both the men’s and women’s singles events. Six ITF Places will be allocated by the ITF Olympic Committee, while the two Tripartite Commission Invitation Places have already been announced.

National Associations/NOCs have until 23 June to confirm the entry of players eligible for direct acceptance and to return the application form for ITF places. At the same time, National Associations/NOCs will nominate doubles teams for the Olympic Tennis Event. The ITF will announce the full list of entries on 2 July.

Re: Olympic Dream

Aga has a wrist injury, some joint inflammation, but father says it's not dangerous.

Does anyone know when Aga has the olympic pledge? Tennis players are scheduled on Friday, but Aga won't be able to be in Warsaw then (well, probably no tennis player will be there ). Yesterday was the main olympic pledge, but there would by any news, if Aga was there.

Maybe she will have it already in Beijing. Any thoughts?

I'm sure that just before her departure to Beijing and that depends on when she would end Stockholm trip. Everything for our best sportwoman.
