Aga into Indian Wells R3 !

Peng next. Aga always had trouble against Peng, never beat her in 2 sets

Aga, please do NOT lose to Peng !

Aga having one of the worst seasons in a very long time.
I couldn't find a feed for the match but they showed a few clips on tennis channel and she is just out of sorts. She's not hitting with the variety.. doesn't seem comfortable playing her usual crafty type of tennis.

Re: Aga's 2017 - Indian Wells/Miami "Sunshine Double"

First set stats:

47% first serve in
27% second serve won
6 W/12 UE

Absolute Mess. Peng didn't even play that well. Aga plays like a journeywoman... making it hard to watch her matches.

This is worse than 2015 IMO. Aga has to find back her passion, she seems tired of tennis...

For me she should skip the clay season and come back on grass.

At least in 2015 she was trying to improve her aggression, this is just something else :help:

Totally agreed with you, I hope she gets back to normal before the grass season. Go back to your basics and you can stay top 10, change coach and work on getting more pop on your shots and perhaps, perhaps the slam might happen.

Re: Aga's 2017 - Indian Wells/Miami "Sunshine Double"

NID loss, Aga is such a mess. No variety, no aggression, power, tricks just clueless retrieving. You can also add that players don't seem scared to play with her anymore so there's no mental advantage of this sort anymore after losing to all these scrubs and her (often former) pigeons. Please, ditch Srixon & Wiktorowski as soon as possible. She needs new, different training impulses.

Re: Aga's 2017 - Indian Wells/Miami "Sunshine Double"

I just read the article that Aga left Srixon few days ago, that's why I was so surprised about Babolat racquet and made a big mistake in one of the GM threads.
So we all see now, that Srixon or Babolat doesn't make any significant change in Aga's tennis this year.
It's noticeable that she is hitting the ball very late right now and some people are saying that with her camp, they were trying to change technique of her shots. If it's true, it works very bad.
Only solution for Aga is to change her coach and sparingpartner, the number of bad decisions that they could make is done.

Re: Aga's 2017 - Indian Wells/Miami "Sunshine Double"

I only watched the first few games where they were swapping breaks as it was really late here and I needed sleep. For the best really.

I'm confused now. Has the Srixon contract been cancelled? I gather from the pics she was playing with a blacked out Babolat Pure Drive but I assume this is while Srixon go and make more adjustments to make the new racquet play like the old one.

She's 8-6 for the season which doesn't look terrible but not up to her usual standards. I agree, I'd like to see some new blood in the Aga camp to change things up a bit. Otherwise I don't know.

Aga :facepalm: :help::help::help:

Another loss to Peng. And in 2 sets. So disappointing

Her form is a pure disaster. She is clearly slumping at the moment :(

Aga's serve is extremely weak these days. Worse than ever :tape:

Aga ALWAYS has big trouble with solid Peng. Head To Head is now 3-3

Peng was very solid, hardly made stupid UEs. And Aga is a mess at the moment

Re: Aga's 2017 - Indian Wells/Miami "Sunshine Double"

Here some very good comments from livescore Thread:

Aga seems to regress a lot. No pace at all, and her serve is hilarious...

Yeah Aga serve is really hillarious. It is not that she isnt concentrated and makes dfs bcs of it, but she just isnt strong enough to put the ball in. Regarding athleticism she regressed a lot too. Painful to watch really. Not only will she have to remain slamless but she wont be able to win some lower tier tournaments anymore if she continues like this.

Peng is occasionally throwing in the moonball, Aga has no clue how to deal with it.

Ula lost 2-6 2-6 to Duque in Miami Q1

Very very bad. I have no words. Simply very weak

I only saw the first set against Wang. Sounds like she got better in the second set.

Wang's coach, Peter McNamara, was pretty disparaging of Aga when he came on for coaching. He basically said stuff along the lines of "she can't hit the ball" and "she couldn't break an egg she's hitting the ball so slow." :hysteric:

I'm sure she's only using this blacked-out Babolat temporarily until Srixon can tweak the specs of her new racket.

Aga into Miami R3 ! :)

Head To Head vs Wang now 4-0 ;)

R3 vs Lucic, who destroyed Aga at Aus Open 6-3 6-2 :scared:

Lucic was on fire. But really it's a disaster for Aga. The scoreline is embarrassing for her regardless of what the opponent was doing.

What would concern is if Aga is happy to take a loss like this and just chalk it up to, okay my opponent was too good on the day, or if she will actually say to her team I need to do something different or better.

Absolutely expected her to lose but this is so sad. It's obvious that she needs a long break from tennis.

What would concern is if Aga is happy to take a loss like this and just chalk it up to, okay my opponent was too good on the day, or if she will actually say to her team I need to do something different or better.
She will say "There was nothing i could do about it... She played an amazing tennis" "I have the best team I could"

Yes the only solution for her is change her team. Their relationship is getting too comfortable.

I'm going to be taking a break from here for a while, Aga literally has no career and is not even entertaining to watch this year. The whole tour is a disgusting mess and it's getting worse and worse every week.

I'll hope she can revive herself for the grass season, or just straight up retire. See you in a bit guys

Lucic destroyed Aga again, 6-0 6-3 ! :help:

Aga: 5 Winners, 1 UE
Lucic: 38 Winners, 5 UEs

Aga is in very weak form, in a big slump
No depth in her strokes, too passive and her serve worse than ever

It did not help that Peng (Indian Wells) and Lucic (Miami) are bad match-ups for her
Peng loves to play Aga who has not much power and annoys Aga with moonballs
Lucic is not afraid of Aga, plays very well and simply has too much power for Aga

I noticed Aga also looks not as motivated as she was before. Because of her boyfriend ?
