Sure, Iva had some nice 3rd round appearances at Grand Slams and beat Aranxta, Silvia FE and Amanda (a couple of times), but I believe that if she can start the year off well at GC and the Australian and hopefully get into the main draw of Sydney, Iva can start building up enough points early in the year to offset a potential loss of points later. And really, Iva can do more during the clay and indoor seasons in 2003 than she did in 2002. Hopefully she will do better at Sarasota and Madrid (if she plays these events) and we will all be surprised at where she ends up! Best wishes Iva!!!!

Hi xcourt, nice work

Aside from the 100 odd points she will have to defend at the Aussie Open, Iva really has nothing coming off til Charleston! And once again it is great to see her committed to the Pan Pacs in Tokyo, after not playing this year. She has a wonderful record there and loves the carpet. We have reason for optimism, here's hoping everything works out for our diva

iva has a good chance to do well this year. she will be seeded at the gold coast, and can do well there. she is skipping canberra (unless she gets a wildcard). she has made the third round at oz without being seeded for two years now, so being seeded can only help. then, iva just needs to get it a couple of good wins in the hardcourt season in america and she will already have made up her charleston and bol points. plus, she only has about 200 points to defend after bol and that is usually her favorite time of the year with the rest of the claycourt season, the hardcourts, and the carpet season. good luck iva!
