I think this has the potential to be one of the most exciting matches of the tournament. Lindsay has been playing great tennis lately, and she is in the right mind to do some serious damage. Lindsay also has a commanding 5-1 head to head against Justine. Justine has not been playing badly, but does not look to be in top form, especially after yesterday's match against Chanda. If Lindsay plays like she's been playing, I think she could take the match in 3 exciting sets. Good luck to both!
Possibly a bigger question is who will call the trainer first? They both did in their last match, so.......
Last meeting: 2003 Australian Open Hardcourts 4r Justine Henin-Hardenne - Lindsay Davenport 7-5 5-7 9-7
i know for sure justine will do anything to win this match. it doesnt matter what happened in her match against chanda. when the going gets tough justin is right up there with the best to find a way to win the match.
From all the reports I've read, and what I've seen of Lindsay from the
Hopman Cup she will have match points and lose her nerve. Justine
will just barely make this one out alive. She will be dodging bullets
left and right. Sheer will, stamina, and mental toughness will be the
main comments after the match.
I think the match will be kind of like the Chanda vs Justine match.
Some beautiful shots, and a hella ugly playing in between with a
timeout medical injuries in "stereo". Yes, both players will call for
a medical trainer.
*Bonus forecast.
Amelie will most likely be the winner of the Sydney tournament.
She knows JHH's game a bit too well nowadays, and is hardly
intimidated by her. JHH will just be happy to be injury free
and her "head" will be in Melbourne anyway.
I hope Lindsay is still wants revenge, but at what cost? If she's injurred she won't risk not playin in the Open. If she's feeling better she should step it up and step into justine.
I don't want to predict who'll win this match - I will say this though, if Lindsay's pec muscle starts aggravating her and she calls the trainer you can make a bet if it's still annoying her she'll retire from the match to save herself for the Open.
I know Mark P susstained a pec tear in the Davis Cup final last year - he was out of action for 4 weeks - but a strain is usually something they can play through I think.

I think Juju (coming off a hard match with Shonda) doesn't want another grueling test so close to the AO. So if Linzi is "on her game" I think The Little Engine That Could (new JR bestowed nickname ) will focus more on a lot of things OTHER than the score and probably lose.
(I mean serve placement, timing, etc. which is probably smart). Wanting a Slam that's neither "sans Williams" or tainted by controversy (esp. not on clay) her focus needs 2B on the AO, not the result in a Tier II. ("Testing stuff" isn't the same as tanking, aka "I just want this ova").
