Its not a question of "waiting" until other players retire...Martina has beaten them all when she was in top form...this year when she couldn't compete, players like Henin-Hardenne, Clijsters, the Russians, Ai and Mauresmo all took strides to better their game and raise their rankings, therefore took advantage of the "Williams sisters" not being out there...however 2004 will be a very interesting year as to who emerges as the "cream of the crop"...Martina would love to be one of them I'm sure of it... if she were only "healthly" enough to compete....although she is able to play recreational tennis,she is unable to do play anymore than a couple of hours before experiencing pain....but maybe the old adage will come true "time will heal all wounds"
