I was wondering the same thing actually...

I wouldn't be surprised though, as she hardly played singles in recent years and her doubles ranking had begun to slip a bit more too. She was always really liked though, she was so cute and could come up with some really neat shots that you wouldn't expect especially since she's so small!

"Religion has actually convinced people that there is an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. Any if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!

But he loves you."

Rika was one of the most respected players on tour. She was so nice with everybody and was such a intelligent player who besides being a WTA player used to work for a Japanese telecommunications company on the road and wasn't strange seeing her working with her laptop in the tournaments.

But with such a soft & weird game really goes beyond my knowledge how she managed to be a top 75 player and even win a Roland Garros mixed title

I enjoyed watching Rika play doubles on the WTA Tour a couple of times. She was obviously a smart player, which is more important in doubles than singles.

No, she is still playing singles. She is listed in Main Draw of $50k Challenger Shen Zhen in China, beginning Dec 8th.
