Kim vs Amelie...worst YEC final ever?

Final finished in less than an hour against 2 players who don't know what's to win a Grand Slam

Btw, can anyone confirm this is the first time in history that 2 players without a Grand Slam played the final of the YEC?

No, Sabatini beat Pam Shriver in 1988.

If not THE worst it is a close second. I slept through the second set so that I could watch the mens match in Houston, which was GREAT.

What is wrong with Mauresmo?

I think Serena Williams getting a walkover was worse.

Also, there were some high quality rallies in this match and Kim was in top form. If only Amélie had been in better form.

It was pretty boring but Kim played great even though Amelie was not up to par. I agree that the Andre-Roger match was much more exciting.

Man that was an ass whooping at its best. I was pulling for Mauresmo after she beat Justine, but Clisters took it to her. Whats even funnier is that I think justine would defeated Clisters had she beat Mauresmo.

Venus and Serena ....Often imitated NEVER duplicated!!!!!!!

That was a drive-by. Kim had that 'back the hell up off my trophy' look all night. But she was peaches and cream at the net. I think she has that fire. I hope she's finally acquired that on-court demeanor.

It was your typical performance from Momo; defeats a top player and gets mowed down in the next round. Chandaitis?

It would have been better if it had been 6-4 6-2... at least an hour's worth. But I got to see MNF and the Eagles won.

Williams x2 Clijsters Golovin Ivanovic Li Jackson
Federer Blake Fish Roddick Grosjean Bryans x2

Wasn't there a final that was so bad, that the WTA decided to make the final a best of 5 the next year?
I think Navratilova was involved and it was around the mid 80s.
Any tennis experts who know?

In 1983 Navratilova bt Evert 6-2,6-0 and they decided to make it the best of five. The following year Navratilova beat Evert in three sets, 6-3, 7-5, 6-1

Wow,the same score as yesterday's final. Why did they get rid of the best of five? I liked it. There was alot of good matches
1998- Hingis-Davenport
I remember Graf had a couple 5 set wins, one was against Hingis, was the other Huber?
I think they should bring the best of 5 back.
