How long will Justine remain No.1 uninterrupted?

New weekly poll!

http://www.wtatour.com/

Does the weeks during the off-season count?

If "yes", why don't they change it?
because its not a honour when she doesn't have defend her #1 position each week in my opinion.

Its only a question!

greetings

Do you mean that the off-season doesn't count?

I think it's cool that the off-season counts; it rewards the year-end #1 by giving him/her 2 months at #1

Anyway, Justine could lose the #1 ranking as early as the Australian Open next year. Kim is close enough (especially if she wins today) that any number of situations at the Australian Open would result in a change at #1. If Kim were to win it, I think it would guarantee her #1. She might only have to do better than Justine period to regain it.

Thanks for your reply mandy7!

Totally agree with you.........but 3 months would be very short if we count almost 2 months for the off-season!

Why giving him/her 2 months at #1!

everyone needs to earn it......my boss doesn't give me anything without doing something!

until Kim wins Aus Open next season

A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening ear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn.

Well it depends on the start next year. Kim defends Sydney and semi AO, Justine semi in Sydney and semi at AO
Next is Dubaï (won by Jusitne) and Antwerp where Justine playeds semis and Kim final.

Kim is alos going to play less in 2004 so she will loose points there.

Roland Garros '03,'05,'06,'07
US Open '03,'07 / Australian Open '04
Olympic Gold '04 /
YEC Madrid '06,'07
41 titles

Let the woman have no.1 for a few weeks in the off season.

She deserves them !

How many points would Kim behind Justine if Kim wins later today?

It would be very close, because Justine needed to reach the semi-finals to get #1.

I'm not quite sure why everyone seems convinced that Kim will win the AO Wasn't it this year she was meant to? Or are her fans hoping that, like Chris Evert/John Wertheim, if they keep making the same prediction, it'll eventually happen?

I think Justine will be #1 at least until the clay season and probably beyond. This is assuming no injuries, etc.
