Personally I'd call it one of the greatest 3rd Sets in the Open Era.

I remember how I suffered during that match but even if it was so close I had always been sure that Monica was going to win it.Monica was an unbeatable and confident player. There I understood how much I loved her

I saw nothing. I have pms

To the river so deep
We all end in the ocean
We all start in the streams
We're all carried along
By the river of dreams

lol... @irma. that 3rd set is without peer. monica dominated the first set, then steffi rebounded brillintly be getting a break and maintaining her serve. but in the third set, they both played awesome! buy this match...

I'm not gonna start collecting classic Monica matches until she's completely finished with tennis. It'll give me something to watch for a year or so and look forward to. I've seen a lot of the matches live (on TV) but I was 10 during the FO '92 final and don't remember much of it.

Graf or Seles involved in almost all four of them. Impressive.

This is one of the few non-Sabatini matches that I own.

Which makes it one of the few matches I own where Steffi didn't win .

I would have voted for French open 1996 from the ones that were on offer that I'd seen, but it's definitely not a bad choice for this award by any means.
