What are Alexandra's chances of defending her points at Linz?

She hasn't played as well this indoor season as she has the past two years but if she doesn't do well this week she will fall out of the top 50. How well can she do?

1st R vs. Pisnik

2nd R vs. Sugiyama

Qtrs vs. Hantuchova/Dokic

Semis vs. Pistolesi/Zvonereva/Suarez/Petrova

I think she can win against Pisnik and Sugiyama but Qtrs could be a problem.

She will fall to the crafty Pisnik in the first round.

Heh, out of the top 80 more like

She could well find herself in Slam qualies by Roland Garros.

I think she'll beat Pisnik, then lose to Sugiyama.

The draw certainly gives her a pretty good chance to defend some or most of her points.
Whether she will take this opportunity is another question ... I doubt it as she isn't as good in form as last year.

Alex has a chance against Tina, but honestly Tina is playing very well right now and will probably beat Alex. I don't think Alex will beat Ai even if she gets by Tina. Poor Alex- her ranking is about to plummet it seems....

Alex will be approximately 86 after she loses to Tina.

Tina is playing well, and she'll annoy the hell out of Alex.

sad to see her falling back so far. it all really depends on stevenson. if she plays her best i doubt pisnik can handle her. stevenson playing her best is about as likely as patty having a normal boyfriend, so i would say pisnik wins 6-0, 6-0
