hi-- u missed monica
she's played 7 tournaments, and she has an average of 85.6 points. in addition, she probably had no business playing in2 of her 7 tournaments... but thats negligible.

That's a big misleading, though. For instance, Kim won Luxembourg last year and only 200 points total. That is well below her average here and would this bring it down, but it was a title win.

If someone only plays 7 tournaments and they are all fairly big, then of course their average will be higher. That's not to say Serena wouldn't still have the highest average if she played more - because she probably would - but it's still misleading.

Whoo, Kim sure takes a beating in those standings! From no.2 all the way to no.4.

Always bet on black!

You're so right. A win at Rosmalen (Justine, Kim, Mauresmo, Petrova, ...) or Luxemburg only amounts to 200 points.

A win at a TI only brings 400 points to the winner, so it's impossible to have an average of more than 450 points if you play more than 17 tournaments.

Every time Serena plays a tournament her average will drop, so it doesn't say much.

If Justine plays 1 tournament (RG) and she wins it, she will have an average of 1.100 points.

Right - and for me, none of it is to take away from Serena (she is clearly the best when playing); it's just to point out that some averages are lower (even whent he player wins) because the players play more.

If Kim had played Slams in half her tournaments (like Venus) she would very easily have made #3. Unfortunately, she couldn't fit 9 Slams into her schedule this year.

You have to answer for Santino, Carlo.
