Rubin def Zvonareva 1-6, 6-4, 6-3

well done chanda. she was down a break in second at 4-2 bought fought back well. no doubt zvonareva's fragile mind played some part, but all reports say that chanda lifted her game to another level.

great win chanda

bad luck vera

No, I wouldn't say so. Chanda Rubin has made some great comebacks throughout her career. She has always been known for it. As with Sanchez Vicario, a match with Rubin is never over until you've shook hands.

Good for Chanda - Zvonereva is a tough player these days.

Well done Chanda. This was a step up in class for Zvonareva, regardless of the rankings. Taking that first set is an accomplishment.

Not blind. Not uninformed. We are party to atrocities. But the response of the world after 9/11 is worth noting. Even our most dire enemies offered aid. We should all be so lucky.

Vera stayed calm even when she was losing

I guess that match against Anna Pistolesi did teached her something!! It least I hope so

Exclamation

Sorry to bring this up, but Vera hasn't been inpressive since the FO, where she beat Venus and I don't expect to see her in the top 20 after next year's FO unless she can learn how to close out matches.
