If Venus wants to qaulify for the YEC she will do what it takes

There is nothing the girls ranked beneath her can do to keep her out, except praying and lighting a candle. Venus' destiny is in her very capable hands, I wouldn't want it any other way.

"And for the best of the teen-agers who followed her, and who occasionally referred to her as over the hill, Graf had a ready answer: against top-ranked Martina Hingis, Graf wound up 7-2. Graf's stirring 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 throttling of Hingis at the French Open final this June was perhaps the most emphatic parting shot the game has ever seen. "

Well I'm a huge fan of Venus' ... but I'm not that optimistic. If Venus pulls out of Zurich ... then her chances are close to ZERO to play in LA whether she wins Advanta or not ... unless Davenport has surgery! Venus will be #9 if Myskina reaches the SF in Filderstadt ... and I won't be surprised if Myskina plays Zurich and Linz just to hold on to that #8 spot...

As I said....If Venus wants to play/qaulify for the YEC, she will do what's necessary to accomplish that.
