Venus in top ten (with 6 tournaments?)

There is some chance of this. Venus is top ten right now with seven tournament. Her next off is the TOur Championships, where she'll lose 296 points.

2211 Jan 2004
She'd STILL be in the top ten, with 2211 points. if the point associated with the current rankings hold. Not bad for an old lady, huh? Of course, OZ comes off after ....

2002-11-04 296 Los Angeles
2003-01-13 702 Australian Open
2003-02-10 327 Antwerp
2003-03-17 57 Miami
2003-04-28 183 Warsaw
2003-05-26 136 Roland Garros
2003-06-23 806 Wimbledon
In fact, check it out. Venus played ONE tournamernt a month for six months last year, then bagged the year. She's still ranked #6.

The only positive thing out of this is ... besides those 2 GS finals, she won't have that many points to defend next year ... while the rest of the field (especially Clijsters and Henin) will be struggling defending all those points (with no chance to move up).

That #6 ranking is only due to her 2002 LA SF ... It's amazing that she will be top10 with that kind of schedule though. But again ... those sisters make things look so easy ...

Venus being in the top ten with only six tournaments played is I suppose a pro-rankings system argument.
