I really don't know what happened.
Elena has been playing so well but today she could hardly hold serve after leading 4-1 in the first set.And kept making errors.
Today,she was like another Lena.

This is usually what happens to Amelie during a match. Hopefully it does not last during a set and a half!

Considering the fact that Elena has been playing well lately many, I included, expected her to pose a problem for Amelie. Actually, I expected the match to go either way. My guess is that Amelie exploited her Elena's serve. I don't know. I was expecting a competitive match.

Alyona wasn't there today.

Her twin sister, who studied tennis in the UK, turned up!

Really, she just hit everything long, or into the net. Pressure, I guess.

Victoria Azarenka, Dinara Safina, Maria Kirilenko

Maybe she was wary of Amelie's eyes on her? (j/k).

Go Amelie!!!

Poor Elena I really wanted her to become the first Russian to take the title.

Go Ai! Go Shinobu! Go Rita! Go Monica! Go Serena! Go Kim! Go Amelie! Go Lindsay! Go Jenn! Go Jelena! Go Mary! Go Conchita! Go Amanda! Go Chanda! Go Elena D! Go Maggie! Go Amy! Go Adriana!

Players I sorely miss.
Dominique Van Roost, Martina Hingis, Gabriela Sabatini, Mary Joe-Ferenandez, Steffi Graf, Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario, Anke Huber, Kimiko Date, Pam Shriver, Naoko Sawamatsu, Brenda Schultz-McCarthy, Sandrine Testud and Julie Halard-Decugis.

Good luck in your post-tennis life

Amelie!!!!! finally finding your form!!!
EVeryone says Elena played badly but Mauresmo played great tennis, kept her errors down, hit good winenrs and attacked Dementieva's backhand and secodn serve!!!! Smart tennis today Amelie!!!
