I think it's safe to say...

...that Aniko didn't beat Justine at 2002 Roland Garros because Justine was sick.

Aniko has game, and she was always in the match with Justine, trading some very good groundstrokes.

She beat Justine at Roland Garros because she knows how to play the game. She would easily be a top 50 player if she had a better serve.

I think this 7-5 6-3 victory by Justine just tells me that Aniko's win was no fluke. She could have very well just played so great that day, regardless of the sick Justine.

Great Fight Aniko.

If she would have won again it would have been safe to say so but now...no.

Aniko certainly has game but if Justine would have been at her normal level at RG, there's no way she would have lost that match.

But, Justine was not at this level last year, she has improved a lot in one year.

I think this close match today just validates the victory from Aniko.

I disagree. aniko has game but on CLAY justine would have beaten even quicker had she not been sick. clearly she was very sick that day. nonetheless aniko does have game but today she won several games based on justine already having lost to her and being tentative. same thing when els got to 4 and 4 against serena on grass. nerves.

Aniko played well in rallies, but if Serena or Lindsay was let loose on that second serve, Aniko would have struggled to win more than one service game.

6:1 6:0 really shows something was wrong, no matter if kapros has game or not

Through the desert of the truth
To the river so deep
We all end in the ocean
We all start in the streams
We're all carried along
By the river of dreams

Justine usually plays close first round match in Slams, it was the same this year on RG - 2 close sets

Either way you look at it,
Aniko made it a match!

She hit so pretty impressive shots.
I agree with Tracy, if she gets fitter
and fixes that serve she can definitely top 50 or better.
She's only 19, so she has some time.

Us Open is not RG, and as evidenced by this match, justine is vulnerable to being pushed around the court even from the likes of Kapros.

Not a good showing from justine she'd better step on it, if I were a fan I wouldn't be too concerned as her draw looks pretty good to the semis.

"And for the best of the teen-agers who followed her, and who occasionally referred to her as over the hill, Graf had a ready answer: against top-ranked Martina Hingis, Graf wound up 7-2. Graf's stirring 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 throttling of Hingis at the French Open final this June was perhaps the most emphatic parting shot the game has ever seen. "

It was just a practice for Ju. She hit most of the balls in the middle
of the court obviously testing something...
