Do you think Navratilova's had the menopause??

She's 46. Is that too young for it?? Would it affect her level of play if she had had it do you think?

well this is the second time she says that she can beat venus and serena. that might be a sign that she is in a midlife/menopause crisis

In the middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep
Through the desert of the truth
To the river so deep
We all end in the ocean
We all start in the streams
We're all carried along
By the river of dreams
In the middle of the night

I don't know Venus and Serena personally, but I doubt they have martina on their brain

I'm having to deal with a newborn right now, so menopause is looking good to me. "Normal" women will still be ovulating and having periods at 46, but pro athletes, their periods are always messed up and we don't know what kind of stuff Martina has taken over the years (legal stuff I mean), and all her hard training, it's possible it's come and go right now, but she' probably still getting it. A lot of it is genetic. My mother didn't stop until about 53 or so, and the younger you are when you start, the older you will be when it ends. I was 11, so I know it's still a long haul. We'll never know, but I imagine she is still having to deal with "the curse" and it is a curse, at least for me.

46 is early, but not abnormal, for women to reach menopause.

Being PAST it would not hurt her; it might even help, to have the monthly hormonal swings over with.

But to be in the MIDST of it, that might be hard on occasion -- hot flushes, mood swings, etc. But that depends on the woman.

My guess is that Martina's got a few years to go before menopause hits!

I seriously doubt it - she's been having mood swings on court for years.
