Exclamation Prediction: All Belgian Final and US Man Or Men In Semis; Women's Final Back To 4:00

This is just a feeling I have. Many of you won't like to hear the harsh truth, but Viacom (which owns CBS) is a business and they have been doing pretty well this year. They realize that without an American woman in the women's final, there may be little interest (since the last time that happened was in the mid-1990's) in the US (they alsoo know what the ratings were for the 2003 FO final). They also know that Agassi is very popular and the up-and-coming Roddick is gaining in popularity and they (Viacome/CBS) would benefit finacially if they showed one of these semifinal matchs in prime time (like they used to). They will know as late as Thrusday, I think, who the men's semifinalists will be and it won't be too late to make a change.

Are we already past the semis? Wow, I really musta missed it. Which international players are in the final then?
The French Open has NOTHING to do with CBS, Viacom, or the USTA - it' NBC and FFT.
Thanks.

You don't think CBS isn't worried about this year's USO? Then read the article in today's Washington Post. If you can't find it, I'll cut and paste it for you.

Since nobody "worthy" will be in the final, I think they should play it at like 352 am New York time.

and why even play at Flushing Meadows. We already know how 'boring' it's going to be thanks to lizchris's 'feeling'...cancel the whole tournament altogether.

Why have tennis at all when lizchris's faves aren't playing?

Don't shoot this messenger.

Just look at today's Pilot Pen final. Nice weather, All-American final and the staduim is half full. I know the time of the final was changed, but people knew that well in advance.

lizchris, don't take this personally, but I think you're assuming you know more about predicting the future than you actually do.

Don't take this personally, but you need to read mroe than what is on this message baord because I am watching the Pilot Pen tourament right now and Jennfier seemed to turn her ankle. Pam said she hoped it wasn't serious becasue tennis already lost its TWO BIGGEST STARS for the US Open and they can't afford more injuries.

I agree that the US Open lost its two biggest draws...but the final has already been scheduled. I don't know why they would change the time now.
