You miss tennis players because they brought insight inot the
game or they were very good players. You can't miss someone
because his or her face is not seen on the tennis court.

How can you miss Van de Roost. She just was an ordinary
tennis player who maybe don't win a tier I let alone grandslam.
Graf and Jana were good players and we all missed them
a lot especially what tennis could have looked like had they
still playing tennis with the likes of Venus, Serena, Davenport
Capriati, Henin, Clijsters....FATASTIC.

a smile

Your telling me what I can or cannot feel and that is unrealistic! If your opinions on missed players is the way you described then that is great for you, but I am not you. I miss all the above mentioned players. .. for my personal reasons.

Actually Vanroost was my very first ever female player that I've seen play "LIVE".. and I will always remember that doubles match!

Jana, she was so cool . Thank god she still comments for BBC once in a while

tennis is different for me since Steffi retired, sometimes during a grand slam I miss the excitement and nerves I got when she had to play.

In the middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep
Through the desert of the truth
To the river so deep
We all end in the ocean
We all start in the streams
We're all carried along
By the river of dreams
In the middle of the night

I miss jana

A single flow'r he sent me, since we met./All tenderly his messenger he chose;
Deep-hearted, pure, with scented dew still wet - One perfect rose.
I knew the language of the floweret;/'My fragile leaves,' it said, 'his heart enclose.'
Love long has taken for his amulet/One perfect rose.
Why is it no one ever sent me yet/One perfect limousine, do you suppose?
Ah no, it's always just my luck to get/One perfect rose.

Chibuku14, of course you come from the Netherlands, how else could you dare to post such nonsense.
Van Roost was not an ordinary tennis player. No, she never won a Grand Slam and she was never ranked number one. But she was a player who made a lot of a limited amount of talent and defeated several top players.
She was in any case less ordinary than the Dutch tennis women of her generation.
There!
