i think she will be remembered more for the COMEBACK than for her being stabbed. she is a courageous, one-of-a-kind champion. she won't be a hall of famer because of pity... she has enough qualifications in a matter of 3 years to get 3 players inducted.
some ppl will remember her as the poor little girl who was kickin ass who got stabbed. but as long as they remember WHY she was stabbed, they will know she is an all time great and a true pioneer in the highest profile women's sport on the planet.
I think people should remember Monica as an innocent victim, rather than a poor victim. Monica would probably not want our pity, even though I am sure we do all feel sorry for her. Monica is a legend and her amazing 1990-1993 will be remembered but she will always be connected to the stabbing and how she was robbed of fulfilling her potential.
