Patty
Patty in a slump? You could say that she has been very inconsistent and very erratic this year. I have yet not to see her play her best Tennis. Most Promising was at French Open agains't Justine Henin, other then that. It's Just Pattys normal game, right from her teenage years Patty been somewhat of a game of inconsistencies and erratic nature. Though Loosing to Talaja on Clay was something to ponder about.

Ohh no Maybe it was All Hoffmans fault that she lost,
Conspiracy I tell ya, Conspiracy, call in the Police.

Patty has had a few decent results this year, but she's really failed to pull off her very best tennis yet this year.

Not really a big surprise she lost to Talaja, Silvija is good on clay and is a dangerous player who only barely lost to Patty last week anyway, so it's no surprise she probably took away a few things to work on this time.

Clarisa has had a pretty rotten year for the most part, but the truth is she was always lucky to be where she was ranked last year. Her ranking right now is where she should be, she as potential to go higher again, but she has plenty that she needs to work on to do that.

"Religion has actually convinced people that there is an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. Any if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!

But he loves you."

it is a scary situation, and hofmann is a scary man. but in the end, patty is a grown woman. she should stand by the actions she takes, blaming hofmann for everything is just a little bit too easy. if he has such a big influence on her life and tennis, then that' truly sad.

i was reading the paper this morning and thinking the exact same thing! i hope they snap out of it, particularly schnyder who's too good to be floundering her talent.

"it is a scary situation, and hofmann is a scary man." (Beat)

my thoughts exactly. I am even worried about Hofmann turning violent if Patty tries to leave him. But on the other hand at some level, isn't Patty an adult and responsible for her own issues? This seems to be the central point.

Ohh yes what a wonderful Idea JR, Perhaps when I have a day of I will march around the streets of Geneva and gather a crowd of supporters and march up and down the street saying "Down with Hoffman" hoping that I appear on TV.

Maybe If your so infatuated with the situation, then you do something about it.

Perhaps Silvija deserves some credit here? I have always loved her game and she has had her own set of less publicized set-backs to deal with. Could it be possible that she learned something from her 3rd set tiebreak loss to Patty last week and improved upon it this time? I think so...I love Patty too, but I don't think this loss is all about Patty's off-court issues.

this is just patty's way. she never performs well in these tournaments. yes really needs to take more of a risk and play the bigger tournaments in the US because she definitely turns up against quality players more than against lower ones. although i think talaja is a really good player. i'll always remember the year she should have beaten venus at the australian open + she was top 30 prior to a series of injuries. i'm not too concerned about these results from patty. she does have clear up all these issues that have plagued her for years now.

The two are just on a long list of slumping players that includes Hantuchova, Bovina and Daniilidou.

Either that or the depth in women's tennis today is just that much better.

if you actually got out of your delusional state for a few minutes you might actually work it out that this has been my opinion since rainer harnecker entered patty's life. i stated my opinion on numerous occasions and have never said anything to the contrary. just because i don't believe it is my responsibility to actually solve the problems of a person i have never met or even really know as a person does not mean that i agree with the way she lives her life. if i did make it my responsibility to fix everyone's issues then i really wouldn't have much time on my hands, because most people's lives are screwed up in one way or another.

i'm sorry if you think that because i'm not active in fixing patty's problems that i some how agree with the way she lives. i don't. in the grand scheme of things, however, i don't view patty's situation as a more pressing concern to me than the war in iraq for instance, where innoncent people (both american and iraqi) are dying, or trying to support one of my girlfriends best-friends who is currently battling cancer.

i come on this board to talk to people about one of the few things in life which for me doesn't involve taking things too seriously. i know what your trying to do. i don't know your true motivation, but if what you do is for the right reasons then i respect you for that.

all i ask is that you don't try and make me a part of this whole issue. iit's your right to post what you want, i just don't want to be made to feel like a bad person for wanting to enjoy myself.
