Where on earth are Tammy, Shinobu & Akiko? They would all be in the MD. Really strange...

The cutoffs are bound to be much weaker in 6 weeks time, especially in qualies.

Emilie Loit is such a hypocrite. She said at Canberra that she would definitely not be going to Bali this year to the press, but it looks like she changed her mind.

I remmeber reading something last year where Tammy said she would be cutting down her number of Asian hardcourt tournaments. I cant remember much about that though, i could be wrong.

It says that the list was revised on 22 July, so perhaps it's possible that Tammy, Shinobu & Akiko entered between then and 28 July?

I hope so...

She was supposed to leave for Europe after Shanghai (Tier II), which was suggested at the beginning of the year. I wouldn't be surprised if she's now decided to head to Europe after Tokyo (Tier III). That would be a better decision at this point in time...

By the way, i read the newspapers today that Svetlana Kuznetsova, the defending champion, will be skipping this tourney for some reason...

Cool Interesting!

If I am not mistaken, earlier this year Tammy said that this season she wanted to play more indoors...so, maybe that's the reason why she would not be here...

Sveta, I believe that she is very confident to be at least in QF at USO...so, no need for her to fly all the way to Bali!

Chanda shouldn't play her...let a non-top 10 player win a Tier III title. Don't understand why Tammy isn't playing here because she's far better on hardcourts than indoors. Kind of sad that Sveta isn't defending any of her titles from last year. If I were here I would want to defend them...since that's how she got her start.

Er, Tammy is excellent indoors and pretty mediocre on hard. Until this year, she's never played indoors much, which has been pretty stupid - she's never done well on the Asian hard court circuit. Good to see her finally make the right decision

Sveta's ranked too high to consider the Asian hard court circuit too... she's good enough to mix it with the big girls now.
