WTA Champions Race

Those of you that remember, i used to do this on the WTAtour board. ok, here's my thing again......

I compile a WTA Champions Race, it works basically the same way as the Race to the Chase, starting at the beginning of the year with 0, but runs with a different point system, very similar to the ATP Champions Race.

I readjusted the points this year to more appropriately match the WTA system this year that weights the Slams and such more heavily. Remember, i do this all myself and am not affiliated with any organization. I just do it for fun and people seem to like it.

It usually has mostly the same outcome as the Race to the Chase, but last year the WTA Champions Race showed Jennifer Capriati as the #1, so you can see it isn't always the same. I find it fun. So after the first 3 weeks of the 2002 season, the top 25 are as follows........

1. Jennifer Capriati 251
2. Martina Hingis 240
3. Kim Clijsters 147
4. Justine Henin 126
5. Venus Williams 125
6. Monica Seles 120
7. Amelie Mauresmo 95
8. Martina Sucha 86
9. Anabel Med. Garrigues 84
10. Adriana Serra-Zanetti 82
11. Anna Smashnova 77
12. Meghann Shaughnessy 76
13. Janette Husarova 59
14. Rita Grande 58
15. Amanda Coetzer 55
16. Tamarine Tanasugarn 54
17. Marlene Weingartner 51
17. Magdalena Maleeva 51
17. Elena Dementieva 51
20. Nicole Pratt 49
21. Silvia Farina Elia 46
22. Tatiana Panova 43
23. Ai Sugiyama 41
23. Daniela Hantuchova 41
25. Nathalie Dechy 38

and if you want the standing of any player not listed here who has played a tournament in 2002, just post it here and i'll give it to you as soon as possible.

Thanks, and do you guys want me to continue this?

yeah, seems interesting!
