Question Shortest matches at each of the majors??

What are the official shortest matches at each of the majors? I assume/hope these records don't include people retiring in the 1st set or something.

Yes, very interesting question. Clijsters could already have two records. At Wimbledon and at the AO, but I don' t know where Graf played her record match.

Anna Kournikova had an extremely short match at the Aussie Open a few years ago.

Of course, I don't know times of matches from the early 90s and stuff. I am sure Seles and Graf used to run through people...and that 1988 French final was brutally short.

monica and steffi used to win first rounds routinely under 40 minutes. serena can win 1 and 2 and it will still be very very quick. its not necessarily a double bagel at each. at the us open, jen beat mattek (correct me) 6-0 6-0 but it took 59 minutes...

Clijsters could have three records...

US Open 2000 : 1st round : Clijsters - Marrero : 6-0, 6-0
Aus Open 2003 : 2nd round : Clijsters - Mandula : 6-0, 6-0
Wimbledon 2003 : 1st round : Clijsters - De Los Rios : 6-0, 6-0

yeah but the most significant was Steffi's 6-0, 6-0 drubbing of Natasha in the '88 FO final

Monica had the shortest match at last years Wimbledon beating Bes 6-0 6-0

It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winning's winning

On the wimbledonsite you can find the record for shortest ladies finals:
1922:Miss S.R.F. Lenglen (FRA) bt. Mrs. F.I. Mallory (USA), 6-2, 6-0 in 23 mins

On the other GS sites I couldn't find any records for shortest matches.
