Yep, watched the entire first set, and the last
two games of the second. Tammy's money
shots on the backhand just weren't hitting jackpots
today. Akiko on the other hand was doing a
great job of being Monica Seles on the ground
strokes. Great rallies this match. Both players
hit flat shots, and it was interesting seeing those
cross court angle battles on display.

Akiko should win her next match on this form;but
I think she might just get interesting against Jen.
Monica's style of two-handers on the
seems to trouble Jen, and that is the way Akiko plays.
On the other hand the power of returns from Jenni-fer
might just blow Akiko off court.

Wow, well done akiko!

[I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is stalk them and hope they panic and give in.]

[Restraining orders are just another way of saying I love you.]

Sad for Tammy (the streak is broken) but happy for Akiko (hope she makes it to the 3rd round).

Tammy
She seems to have lost her way since losing to Daniildou in that very close match. Hope she can regroup for the rest of the season.
I hope Akiko can make it to the 3rd rd and beat Capriati now.
